Not only does that refurbished player cost only $150 less than a new PS3, it is also significantly worse as a BD player. Only somebody that was completely clueless would consider that a better deal. Not to mention the fact that retailers tend not to recommend refurbished goods to their customers.
A 10% rise in sales is an extremely conservative estimate, especially if it is in relation to the US market.
