With the PS4 selling 320k in Japan this week gone, it has overtaken WiiU (will likely be 100k ahead).

22nd Feb:

WiiU: 5,760m (with similar sales to the week before added)
PS4: 5,840m (with Japan launch and similar sales to the week before added)

What makes it so significant is that it likely actually happened on the 21st. Which would make it exactly one Year after the PS4 was actually announced.

Either way, nobody expected this to happen 12 Months ago.

Early next year would be my guess.
