Yeah, well, it could also happen that I win at the lottery or that the sun blows up this thursday and we all die instantly. It's not impossible for all we know. But I still wouldn't bet on it.

This early into a console generation, it is naive and ignorant for anyone to "call" anything at this point. It is pointless. The answer is yes, of course this early in there is ALWAYS a chance that any of the three home console could "win the generation". You never know what tomorrow is going to bring. Wii U could turn everything around with just a few great game releases and some strong advertising, and before you know it, it could be "back on top" in sales (as in maintaining that spot which it technically currently still has).

Will that happen? Who the hell knows. But of COURSE it's possible, as of right now. Saying otherwise is just being a fanboy.

Voted yes, because I think there is a 'chance', but I don't think it is likely. Remember what happened with the PS3.

From the Xbox 360 yes. And that's all they needed to do. Hence why PS3 has gradually caught up and overtaken 360. However, Microsoft has also invested in 1st party this gen, much more so than Sony. Sony needs to step up their game with 1st party. For the first time in history, Microsoft actually has a 1st party advantage over Sony. And they look like they're going to keep it well into 2015 at the least. Sony has a few things, but nothing that outdoes Microsoft. If Microsoft can gain traction once it gets more 1st parties, it'll steal market share more from Sony than from Nintendo. Which would leave the race much, much closer if Nintendo can gain some traction as well. But hey, wouldn't a close race be much more fun to watch than a Wii or PS2 style domination race? I for one hope it turns out that way, just for the fun of watching it. Otherwise I don't care that much. I get all the games I want either way, I just come here because for some reason I find watching charts to be really interesting.


Total BS. Sony had Japan and Europe that's why they caught up, 2 territories MS don't have to fall back on... MS does not have a first party advantage period. Their studios don't come close to the quality releases Sony's do. MS again is relying on third party deals, doesn't work.

Well... Miyamoto's new project could be a huge casual magnet or a really awesome game that could bring in some sales + if they advertise the U at all + if they get some more 3rd party Support they might get 40-60 million.
But that still wouldn't be enough UNLESS Sony goes down under and crashes into bits and pieces while melting in a lava pit. Then... and ONLY then will Nintendo be back on top.
