Epic Group Cast works for using equipment as item during battle. i.e. Blessed Shield

Mimic works in across team. i.e. Dragon Breath on your fastest character followed by Brave Mimic for everyone. You ended up casting 16 times for the price of 2 Dragon Fangs

Q: Which does more damage to undead, Sage's Staff or Blessed Shield?

Raise is an instant KO for most undead enemies, so Sage's Staff > Blessed Shield, unless you're fighting a Raise-resistant Undead (f.e - Boss Undead), then the Cura effect from Blessed Shield > Sage's Staff.

Neither are particularly good though, you'd best stick with actual magic, since at the point you get both items, you can get the -ga level spells (unless you've been rebuilding Norende non-stop to get Blessed Shield in Chapter 3/4).

You're in chapter 4 right?. Best place to farm JP is the Mandragoras fights on the Snowy plains of the Overworld. Those plant enemies are always the better choice to farm JP, since they give the best JP:Effort ratio.

Getting into 6x Mandragoras (Alraune for Chapter 2/3 on the Florem region and their hardest, most JP-yielding counterpart, the Rafflesia on Chapter 5 and forward).

Equip any Flame related weapon, have a character learn Crescent Moon with High Atk (Two-Handed with Flametongue, P.Atk 10%), make sure that character has the highest agility possible and just keep on one-shotting those group of 6 enemies.

Once you get Sweeper Hero going, you can easily gain 999 JP per fight (+499 JP if you have Growth Egg equipped as well).

Interesting thread! I'm not quite there yet in the game though, so I probably wont be answering very many questions. I have a question of my own though! What do yal think is better! Blessed Shield or Bloody Shield!?

Group cast all and status ailment amp on one character. BP recovery on every character, with B/W magic as main or sub job.  Brave x 4, poison atleast two times, poisona once.  Always have enough brave to go all out every turn.

Works well with commerces second to last ability, especially if you take 9999 damage, because you have no need to worry about sustaining enough damage to die, except instant death attacks, and you can do good damage every single turn. Not requiring you to default for three turns and then go all out.

Here's my party build on how it works.  I'm on chapter eight and without using commercie, I've been setting it up and leaving it on auto battle until the bosses are finished in maybe three turns at most.  Except one boss but that's because most attacks take off one damage until his defenses are down.

Bloody Shield is the best shield in terms of P.Def and M.Def, you won't get anything better. You'll take a hit to your Evasion, but Shield-oriented classes aren't using their Evasion in the first place.

Knights/Holy Knights Dual Wielding Bloody Shields while protecting the entire party is uber .

Awesome, I chose the right one then! My only quip with it be it's looks, but I'll live with it. :L

And wow I didn't even know you could dual wield shields! :O

Monk's are the best magic users. If you want to take 9999 damage with fire. Not fira or firaga, but fire. Equip the monk's natural talent and spell fencer's phantom weapon. That'll leave them with low defense though so using commerce's low leverage will reduce all damage by half. Since the monk hits the damage limit with just fire, you'll probably hit the damage limit with fira or firaga while low leverage is activated.

White mage can be the one equipped with commerce, but also the skill with holy one if needed to cure. The one class I mentioned above to max out BP every turn. Two monks should decimate even the last boss no problem.

Tagging for later.

I'm only on chapter 2 (Hard mode) but I have Tiz as a Knight/Freelancer (I use Freelancer for Examine lol. I wish there was an item that replaced it.), Agnes as a White Mage/Black Mage, Tiz as Black Mage/White Mage, and Edea as a Monk/Thief.

I got Lu Bu's spear for Tiz from Norende and he does a ton of damage with 150+ phys attack and Stomp. Agnes just for healing and some magic, Ringabel as my main mage, and Edea does good damage with punching things. Plus Thief to steal stuff from bosses.

So far I've beaten almost everything handily.

If you go through the game normally without using Norende, magic users are pathetic from chapter three until chapter five and only after some excessive  grinding to give it good class abilities from different jobs.  The best set up I've found for them requires the spell fencers last ability to make them somewhat on par with my best melee characters.  Otherwise you may as well make the class a melee class that can heal if you want the class to do some damage.
