You're in chapter 4 right?. Best place to farm JP is the Mandragoras fights on the Snowy plains of the Overworld. Those plant enemies are always the better choice to farm JP, since they give the best JP:Effort ratio.

Getting into 6x Mandragoras (Alraune for Chapter 2/3 on the Florem region and their hardest, most JP-yielding counterpart, the Rafflesia on Chapter 5 and forward).

Equip any Flame related weapon, have a character learn Crescent Moon with High Atk (Two-Handed with Flametongue, P.Atk 10%), make sure that character has the highest agility possible and just keep on one-shotting those group of 6 enemies. 

Once you get Sweeper Hero going, you can easily gain 999 JP per fight (+499 JP if you have Growth Egg equipped as well).
