Theres no irony. Its only Irony if Kinect is a peripheral. It isnt. It is Xbox One. Theres chips in the actual console for Kinect. Its a whole package. Like the Wii U tablet. It is Wii U.

Eeeehhh...that's debatable. You could do pretty much everything on the console itself without the Kinect. One could even argue that the Gamepad is a peripheral when it really comes down to it.

But mostly what I was saying is that there are a good number of people who would buy the Xbox One if they could get it without the Kinect. Either because they don't like it or they don't think it's worth the extra $100. Either way, a lack of choice has hurt MS so far.

I will be getting one and look forward to using it.

Nice, and that is a good price. My $80 Harmony remote is starting to show it's age.

I'm laughing so hard at the people that say, "This proves Kinect doesn't work" as it does quite the opposite. It's using Kinect IR Blaster feature to control the other devices.

It's like saying, "I don't need a mouse, I have a touch screen.' Well, they are different things and you can use them at different time. Sure you can do most things with one or the other, but sometimes it's nice to have a choice.

Kinect is the 'One' to control them all.

But it is necessary! It's nearly impossible to change the Xbox One at this point after all...

Yeah I don't get that either...we already know the Kinect works, there's nothing wrong with offering the remote for those who want it.

Releasing this remote actually cements the fact that Xbone will remain bundled with Kinect. Imagine the reaction people would get if they bought this and had no Kinect.

How is it an option if we cant choose not to buy Kinect and just go with the remote. 

Plus Kinect is a peripheral by the very definition of the word Peripheral. Kinect is not integral to the working and use of the xbox one. 

That's right because the Xbox One itself doesn't have a way to read the remote does it?

You do realise you need Kinect to use the remote right?
