Yeah, I'm really scared now... Yesterday there was fire really close to my house, and you can even hear the guns. But I seriously believe all this shit won't help at all. The government will keep doing whatever the fuck they're doing, they won't listen to the people they're supposed to protect. When the police are the murderers, I think it's just better to give up...

I think the same as well sadly...in a month from now everyone will continue their normal lives...people will go to their jobs, kids will go to school, and people will keep drinking their beers.

As a Venezuelan I really really hope they prove me wrong...

It will all be the same, just that the University students will all be scared, and a lot of people will lose a brother, a friend or someone...

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Maduro es in ignorante hijo de puta.

This is absolutely horrifying and heart breaking. Yet another reason why I for one will never let my government disarm me.

Is the US military going to do anything about this or no?

They didn't do anything on Egypt nor Libia a couple of years ago. Don't see them doing anything here either.

Start spreading rumors that the country has a large untapped oil reserve.  That's why the US attacked Iraq, even if they say it's for other reasons.

I guess all we can hope is that it passes over quickly and doesn't escalate.

Most people here in the U.S. know about the oil in venezuela, we're just sick of poking our noses in other peoples business. Do you really want the U.S. in venezuela? cuz we fuck up everything we touch.

this is why the founders wanted the general populace to be armed, to keep the government in check.

Mcain already said that the U.S.A should send troops to Venezuela. Obama hasn't said anything as far as I know.

There is A LOT of oil...and I mean A LOT...there's no secret or rumors here, so U.S sending troops isn't that hard to imagine, and heck that's fine by me, for every Venezuelan soldier the U.S army kills, I will give them a glass full of oil.

How well has that turned out for Iraq?

How many non-military Iraqis were killed by US in that war?

Don't ask for this. Opposite of what US PR always says in regards to our standing firm for freedom/democracy etc... its all bullshit. We join wars for our own benefit and dominance.

Libya we bombed due to the rest of the world taking action and we didnt' want to seem like we were not world's superpower. In the end its still shit for the people.

Iraq we attacked because of oil and better control of region in fear of an rising Iran. Its all resource and military related.

Syria we ignored and won't do anything because they are not a threat to us or a strategic value of any size.

Venezuela we might due to it being in the Western hemisphere where we allow no other nation any control and they have a lot of oil. But while it may seem good... it will end up with our damn troops stuck there for way too long, some other asshole gaining control, and hundreds of thousands if not millions of civilians killed.

Omg, I didn't even know that the situation is THAT bad.
The news here in Germany are dominated by the Ukraine.

Do not underestimate the political and military processes of my homeland.

In general, we Americans, actually, a better term here is probably US citizens, have a weird relationship with Latin America. A lot of us look down on the "Banana Republics," and we've been very good at messing things up south of the Rio Grande for over 150 years.

If the United States "liberated" Venezuela, expect multinational corporations to take power, violence to continue nonstop for years, and mercenaries to be hired to enforce the new law of the land.

"

Note: I'm not saying the United States is evil or anything. But we have a few certain bad habits that arise whenever we "liberate" people.
