Do not underestimate the political and military processes of my homeland.
In general, we Americans, actually, a better term here is probably US citizens, have a weird relationship with Latin America. A lot of us look down on the "Banana Republics," and we've been very good at messing things up south of the Rio Grande for over 150 years.
If the United States "liberated" Venezuela, expect multinational corporations to take power, violence to continue nonstop for years, and mercenaries to be hired to enforce the new law of the land.

Note: I'm not saying the United States is evil or anything. But we have a few certain bad habits that arise whenever we "liberate" people.
