It was intentional, I believe. Pretty sure this is a response to a thread where someone asked what would happen if Nintendo "buyed" Playstation.
If EA BOUGHT any of those companies you mention, it would be pretty terrible. Case closed.
EA doesn't have the finances to buy any of those companies. They probably would have if their attempt to buy Take 2/Rockstar would have succeeded but fortunately that didn't happen.
