Forums - Sony - Should Sony make the PS4 more expensive?

Would you buy that?

I would sell my PS4 for that 9 12.16%

I would sell my Xbox One for that 3 4.05%

I would sell my grandma for that 5 6.76%

I'll take two! 4 5.41%

bad idea! 35 47.30%

wouldn't want that 12 16.22%

too expensive! 6 8.11%

Total:74

I like the idea, but its too late. Backwards compatibility is most important durring the first year or two. By the time they redesigned the ps4 with the ps3 parts, it would no longer be that big of a deal

...by releasing a SKU with full PS3 backwards compatibility for $ 499?

full PS3 backwards compatibility means having pretty much all of the PS3 parts on board, which would cost a lot more than $100

they already have the bluray and the HDD, also they may be able to use the RAM and GPU, the cell is really the thing they can't substitute.

And to everyone who is talking about PS Now: That is not for everyone, just like a always online console.

Not everyone has fast enough internet.

They would have download versions avaible. PS Now service would be running those files from hardware that has to be complaible with a PS4. So it be a ported version of the games already that works with the PS4.

Uh, no. That is not how PS now works. The games run on PS3 server hardware that streams the image to your PS3 or PS4. You can't download these games.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

Would sell my PS4 and PS3 for this.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

If this were true, i actually wouldnt pay the extra $100.

I have 1tb hdd in m y ps3 with many games and movies on it, so that baby isnt going anywhere for along time.
The gap isnt as big as the ps2-ps3 so i wouldnt see any reason to unhook my ps3 when i get a ps4.
