Forums - Sony - Should Sony make the PS4 more expensive?

Would you buy that?

I would sell my PS4 for that 9 12.16%

I would sell my Xbox One for that 3 4.05%

I would sell my grandma for that 5 6.76%

I'll take two! 4 5.41%

bad idea! 35 47.30%

wouldn't want that 12 16.22%

too expensive! 6 8.11%

Total:74

They should have been selling it for $449. Easy money for Sony.

...by releasing a SKU with full PS3 backwards compatibility for $ 499?

full PS3 backwards compatibility means having pretty much all of the PS3 parts on board, which would cost a lot more than $100

they already have the bluray and the HDD,

I'm not saying I agree or disagree with the Idea in general but just to add to your argument because I think the discussion is worthwhile, they also have the power supply and control pad covered too. Possibly the fan as well? maybe the case depending on size.

Maybe rather than a replacement, a limited edition version?

I really don't think many people are interested by bs

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Nope.

Well, demand is pretty high rite now!

they already have the bluray and the HDD, also they may be able to use the RAM and GPU, the cell is really the thing they can't substitute.

And to everyone who is talking about PS Now: That is not for everyone, just like a always online console.

Not everyone has fast enough internet.

there is no substitute to the XDR ram they used with the cell either - and you won't get "full b/c" if you emulate parts, the launch EU PS3 didn't have full b/c either, because it only had the PS2 GPU inside

They would have download versions avaible. PS Now service would be running those files from hardware that has to be complaible with a PS4. So it be a ported version of the games already that works with the PS4.

Sure. Bundle it with the Vita.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Id pay the extra $100
