Forums - Sony - Vita Slim Didn't Boost Sales In The UK, They Actually Went Down Week To Week (According to VGC #s)

Where are the western developers? Vita is not getting any love from them.

Around the Network

Deserved to go down by replacing the luscious OLED screen with an LCD screen for a over-priced handheld

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

no games = no sales.
Sony is dealing with it... i mean, we all know they dont care anymore.

This is why they should bring down the price + memory cards, I know its just 2 days of sales for it but still going down week to week with a new model isnt good.

Personally i hope they dont get rid of the vita 1000 model cuz that one is better (OLED>LCD)

YOUR THOUGHTS? (point was there wasnt a boost despite no drop really)

⇒Week Ending Feb 1st= 2,059

⇒Week Ending Feb 8th= 1,918

(also if anybody can answer me, is the OLED being discontinued in US? Cuz if so i would need to buy one fast, thankz!)

I don't know if the oled version is being discontinued or not, but when this new model comes, it's inevitable. If you try craigslist, you can find a lot of people selling oled models with games and memory card for very cheap. I got my oled vita 3G model with uncharted, a 16 gig card for $120. Pretty nice at that price. Beautiful screen too, I love how unlike LCD, the black is still black even in total darkness. Definately go for the Oled model if you're going to get one.

the vita sections in stores in Scotland (that is the few stores I've seen in Scotland that sell the vita) are small and in some cases not very noticeable Compared to the 3ds which has a much larger section. so why would the average consumer buy a vita when there seems at first glance to be few games for it.

overall it's a lack of exposure which is killing the vita in the uk (and the ridiculous price of memory cards as well) if sony was willing to go full force with the vita more advertising, get more first and third party exclusives on the vita, and a price drop on memory cards they would have a chance to do alright with the vita but for some reason they refuse to actually try, I believe it's probably because of the huge focus they are putting on the ps4 has made them ignore the vita

Oh one last thing by "exclusives" i do not mean indie exclusives the average consumer ie. parents and kids just look in stores for games and don't do much research so you need physical copies of games

It has a ton of western support. You like indie games, right?

If Sony really want that userbase to grow... bring Vita TV to the west already.

Even if the price dropped it would be a small bump in sells and then go right back down to the abysmal numbers it's been doing practically since it launched.

No surprise, considering the price... too bad, really.

Vita TV was confirmed to come to the west, Just no date. I am trying to hold out for one even though i tried to get a vita for $100 2 weeks ago :0 2DS might not release in japan, imo they should drop the price for 3DS/XL but with wiiu not doing so hott right now i doubt they can

It is? Sony better release that with all the problems ironed out because their beta test in Japan showed how bad they handhled the VTV.

I actually haven't seen a vita in the wild for a while... I think this new version is a myth..
