There is really no compelling reason to get Wii Sports Club (might as well no online with the one they have added) or Wii Fit U. There is no sufficient evolution on either of those games. They are mere ports of their Wii game counter parts and who cares to spend additional money to play an HD port of a Mii game?
Good news for gamer. Wii Fit made its time and it's nice to see closer to core releases sell more than more casual ones (ex: Nintendo Land VS Wii Fit)

In typical Nintendo fashion, they are more interested in being different and trying new ideas than being successful or giving either the investor/analyst crowd or the gamers what they want.
I am fine with them ignoring the investor/analyst types except proving themselves right in their choices by being profitable or at least increasing market share of being a relevant gaming platform.
I don't get why Nintendo is so arrogant about not giving gamers what they want.... and gamers want game platforms that can play all the 3rd party games, have the full standard of System and Online features (when compared to any competing system), and is differentiated by the quality and variety of 1st party exclusives (not some gimmick hardware differentiators).

Eh, it could have sold better if they had advertised it properly.
I honestly don't get Nintendo these days, they barely have a Television presence that I've seen and the free Wii Fit U and Wii Sports Club demos/trials were poorly planned as well as advertised. I believe there is still an audience out there for Wii Fit style games, Nintendo just failed to capitalize and deliver something that could make that audience give the Wii U a shot.

they are not about that life and honestly even if they did, it would help but not that much. Damage is done.
