I owned both Wii and DS last gen, which both were a phenomenal success for Nintendo. They had unique selling points, be it touch screen, dual screen or motion controls and both boasted a brilliant diverse library of games. However, im now into the next gen of Nintendo hardware with Wii U/3 DS combo, both which many will say are extensions of their previous hardware.
I have to say that i am actually enjoying the Wii U/3DS combo more than Wii/DS, even though both are still relatively young in their lifespans. I think both have evolved well from their previous iterations and are solid pieces of hardware. 3DS library has so far eclipsed the DS in my opinion, with Nintendo really putting out quite a lot of solid first party titles, stereo 3D, whilst not essential does immerse you in certain games and adds some lovely eye candy. The Wii U i love, its becoming one of my fave Nintendo consoles. The gamepad, whilst not having the same hook as the wiimote is a much better gaming tool for me as a gamer. It has enabled me to have unique gaming experiences like Zombi U, W101, Ninty land and off tv play is great. I can also experience games such as AC, Batman, Mass Effect, Splinter Cell, Watch Dogs etc games that were not possible on Wii. Both machines both benefit from much improved online facilties and Miiverse and the Eshops are of high quality, the latter boasting great indie support.
Forget sales, i f you are lucky enough to have owned all the systems mentioned, which combo has worked best for you as a gamer??
