VITA!!!

The PS3 will sell on average more units per week than the Vita will until the Vita is no longer sold.

Or maybe not.  There's no telling if Sony will turn the Vita around in the future or not.  The PS3 should keep selling steadily as it has a large library of great games.  The Vita has a small library of great games that are also on the PS3, and a few that are exclusive, very very few.

PS3 this year, then Vita from then on as long as Sony give it reasonable support and continue advertising it's PS4 functionality. Overall, Vita but not by much.

PS3 still has 20 million units in it. Can Vita reach 27?

I think the answer is a big nope.

Persona 5 isn't going to do much for PS3 hardware so late in its life.

It would help the Vita however, and a Vita version is likely to be released (not sure if the recent teaser image was legit or not).

I thought this was a completely ridiculous question until I realized the PS3 is nearly guaranteed another 10 million lifetime... While another 10 million for Vita would put it not too far from my initial projection of 19 million.

It's hard to say... It really depends on whether or not Sony ever intends to revive the Vita in NA, and how much price cuts will help the PS3 beyond that nearly guaranteed 10 million... Or how much PS Now ends up hurting it.

With a super optimistic outlook, I can see sales of PS3 hitting 103 lifetime, while Vita hits 26 million lifetime... A more pessimistic prediction, what I see as the baseline, has PS3 88 million, and Vita at 13.4 million.

So in that sense, I see the PS3 winning with anywhere from 1 million to 3.5 million. I didn't really realize how close total accumulated could be from here on out.

I expect and hope Vita does it!

PS3 fell to 8 million last year (4 million less then 2012)
In 2012 PS3 only strong exclusive was an indie game, Journey
In 2013 PS3 had the all-mighty The Last Of Us ranked as game of the generation, but still sales FELL really bad

PS3 sales are only gonna fall quicker and quicker

While PS Vita does still have a future as PS4's BFF, and will have the help of PS Vita TV (really hope this mini console will have some light in the West if it comes.... - I want to buy 3 of this little boxes at least)

And I still want to see PS Vita peak, I think it will be some kind of PS3-like generation, as soon as thirds get tired of 3DS it's gonna be Vita's chance to shine in Japan (OBVIOUSLY I DON'T EXPECT SAME NUMBERS AS PS3, JUST HOPE IT WILL KIND OF BE REBORN)

PS3. Vita is completely dead in America and the 3DS has too much of a stranglehold on Japan.

I think ps4 will carry vita on throughout its lifetime. I love the beautiful little device.
