Anyone else kind of feel like the PS4's power gap isn't that big anymore?  I mean, sure it's more powerful, but after seeing these two, I don't find myself thinking "Oh, how much better this would have looked on PS4"... Am I the only one that thinks that people will stop thinking the Wii U is underpowered after these two games see daylight?

Bayonetta looks really good.  X doesn't look as good as I was expecting.  The monster was very poligonal, and fur textures very PS2ish.  Have you played Shadow of the Colossus HD?  In some ways it was better.

I said this in a different forum, mostly related to PC graphics (since I'm a PC gamer), but the PS4 is closer to its full capacity than people think.  What we'll see are optimizations and clever ways to pull off graphical tricks over the years, but if you're expecting a PS3/XBox360 level of growth in graphics, that's not going to happen this generation.  If anything, the Wii U is the one that has yet to even reach its full potential, because 3rd parties don't waste their money/time making sure its optimized (ACIV anyone?), and Nintendo even has yet to reach their own full HD stride.

Pikmin 3 was their FIRST AAA HD game, and it came out quite well.  SM3DW took it up a notch, and delivered a solid experience with very neat graphics tech flying completely under the radar (textures, shaders, not a single polygon edge in sight).  DKC:TF brings in fur tech and major on-screen physics, and Mario Kart 8, well, there's no denying that game looks amazing.  See Nintendo's fast growth there?

I played the original Shadow of the Colossus, but not the HD version.  Not sure what the HD version looks like, lol

The monster wasn't the best in 'X', but like I said in other forums, it's two monsters, both low level, I think they PURPOSELY chose a boring monster, it's obvious they're trying not to show too much...  Did you notice the mechs precariously and conveniently parked nearby?  That battle was clearly set up, lol

Edit: Typo

That couldn't get anymore obvious ...

It is QUALITY games that make the console sell while also defining what a QUALITY console is.

It is SALES that define CUSTOMERS and it is they who defines the QUALITY of a specific product.

GOOD WILL MEANS NOTHING IF CUSTOMERS ARE DISSASTISFIED ABOUT A PRODUCT.

Despite the fact that microsoft was about to pull DRM an all the CUSTOMERS would have still defined it as the better product compared to the WII U according to sales.

Nintendo has never had a problem with quality games, I don't see your point on that one.  Pikmin 3?  Quality.  W101?  Quality.  SM3DW?  Quality.  DKC:TF?  Quality.  W101 may be the weakest of the bunch, but it's no slouch, either, and with Mario Kart 8 (need I say quality?) on the horizon, there is no shortage of quality titles on the Wii U.

KZ:SF? Not quality.  Knack?  Not quality.  PS4 sales?  Through the roof.  Quality and sales are apparently not related like you think, because like I've admitted before, Sony's marketing department is MILES ahead of Nintendo, they know how to make sure they're seen the way they want to be seen.  Nintendo just sits there saying "you hate me?  cool...", which has allowed it to spread like wildfire.  Nintendo needs to fix their image, but quality is NOT the problem in question here.

Aside from mario kart 8 did any of those other games have a significant effect on the WII U sales ? I thought so exactly ... It's quite evident that the WII U is obviously lacking quality titles. A quality title WILL and I repeat once again WILL SELL ALOT OF CONSOLES. Stop denying it. We have sales data to back this up.

Knack obviously isn't a quality title so I don't know why you brought it up seeing as that wasn't the reason the PS4 sold. KZ: SF has SOME SORT of quality seeing as it moved a fair amount of PS4s. It is CUSTOMERS that define QUALITY, not some dumb reviewers from the biased media you hate so much. Marketing won't do shit if your product is shit for the most part. Marketing ONLY works on good products. Quality and sales are more related than you think or comprehend ...

The market only hates nintendo because they keep putting out poor products they don't want. Image is a problem with nintendo but it can be fixed with QUALITY GAMES and that is something nintendo currently doesn't have ...

You wanna know something REALLY cool?  In the right conditions, you can actually SEE your captain and pikmin REFLECTED in the eyes of a bulborb... I saw it on Miiverse, someone posted it, and I was like "wow, that's Nintendo graphics for ya, the shit you DON'T see is there!", lol

Do you seriously think the WII U can handle fluid simulation ?

Really? In the context of an action, adventure or fps. Not a game rendering what 12 static objects bar water on screen. Even an iPhone could do that.

An iphone could not run the above game. But fine; Pikmin 3 also has dynamic water simulation, in an open world RTS with  over a hundred characters running around at once.

I wonder what the physics will be like in X.

That "water simulation" does not accurately model the volume of a fluid but is only used for the SURFACE.

If they didn't show stuff on purpose I think it's a mistake.  They need to create hype for Wii U.  They should have shown the excellent Donkey Kong gameplay video from today last year to get holiday shoppers hyped, instead of just showing Cranky Kong on some basic levels.
