Forums - Microsoft - Titanfall AI

They should increase AI difficulty when someone leaves the team. The amount of times my team lost the edge in COD because some guys leave is frustrating.

There's nothing to "fix" with the AI.

Saying they need to "fix" the AI is like saying Riot Games needs to "fix" the creepers in League of Legends.

I guess most people just don't have a clue how MOBA's work. Respawn is trying to blend that genre with FPS. It's very interesting. Instead of seeing the AI and imagining them as replacements for human players, think of them for what they are. XP/Titan clock fodder, and controlling the flow of the combat.

For once I agree 100% with you. They just don't get it.

No, we do.

Smart!=hard. Unlike minions in a moba these AI need to act humanistic. Make them weak with bad aim and reflexes, but still have them at least notice when the player walks in front of them.

I was watching my dormmate play the Beta. Games flipping awesome! Theres too much crap going on for you to care about dumb AI. As i stated before to others those guys are just there to help you get your titan faster because in the hands of humans they are harder to defend against and less predictable.

My friends most interesting Titanfight was when he used to vortex to throw the enemy missiles back at them then he shot missiles at them, quick strafed around the enemy to get out of his line of fire, ejected from his mech, landed on the enemy mech and shot his mech to shit. LOL He reloaded his gun like three times. Three full clips. (The need to fix that so Titans can have better defense).

A random guy had a Titanfall in front of him and thought it was a friendly. The second the Titan rose, he made a crater out of my friend. LMAO!

I have a feeling this is just to keep people who usually end up with 0 kills and 15 deaths more interested in the game.

Probably the most true statement of the day.

There has to be something for those people like me who get camped by leet 15 year old semi-professionals and end up rage quiting.  I think they're aiming to make CoD feel hardcore in comparison.

I'm actually fine with the bots being cannon fodder.  Sounds like you're going to die often enough, anyway, that smart bots would be overkill.  If that's ingrained within the design of the game then it shouldn't be a problem.

I'm actually looking forward to destroy those grunts between killing players :)
I believe it is actually fun to have them not that smart, even for good players!

By the way, do we know if players can join a in progress?

Ive found from watching that it works in your favor the more grunts you kill. Its not as legitimate a kill count as more competitive shooters but the fun factor is higher.

Bots can be fun. They were great in Gears 3.

From what I witnessed, I believe so. My friends first match after training was already in progress and then went to phase two. Weird part is he became a level two after one shot. I don't know what to say about that, but it is a beta.
