I'm curious as to what people say. The WiiU's online seems to be at least a generation behind the competitors. The OG Xbox on the other hand had revolutionary online support back in the day. If you compare them then which one do you think had the better online infrastructure.

I think Miiverse is actually a big step ahead in terms of the online being a social platform.

Online play itself works fine. From what I've heard, voice-chat in games works perfectly well.

I think the big think missing is the party chat. Could be a lot faster overall too.

Thats just trash talk. It works, it has an online shop, its as good as everyone else's. Does it realy matter if it loads one second faster?

The only thing they say the new consoles will have is dedicated servers for MMO's. But to be honest, in Japan the Wii U has an MMO aswell. Dragon Quest X.

Therefore... yeah its trash talk. I am sure there are different ammounts of infrastructure development, but its not something that clearly comes across to the consumer side.

I didn't own the original xbox, but I can't imagine it having better online.

Xbox Live was great for a console back then but even if Wii U online isn't really up-to-date to other services nowadays (no clue about that) I can't imagine that it isn't a better service as what original Xbox online service had to offer (pretty much nothing for nowadays standards)
