There was an article that said Sniper Elite will be 1080p on both the PS4 and Xbox One, so they could mean parity with that. They said it'll run 60fps on PS4, but slower on Xbox One, so when they speak about parity here, it's graphics parity only.

| FlamingWeazel said: No amount of PR, fairy dust id going to make up a 40-50% gpu advantage. These devs are just putting their PR hats on, as many devs said the opposite. But keep cherry picking, the proof is in the pudding, which we have seen big advantages for PS4. |
Agreed I don't need devs telling me what I can clearly see with my own eyes. I've worked in IT for 8 years I've built countless PC's. The X1 has a way weaker GPU and that's that.
On top of that Devs have already stated before that they are under agreements that they can't talk bad about either console this has been proven time and time again I can't take their word for it. What I can do is look at the games that have come out and I can look at the hardware. These are things that are irrefutable proof and can not be argued.
The quotes from the Sniper Elite developer (which were discussed in another thread as well) were the most eye-opening I have seen on the next gen consoles thus far personally.
We all know a gap exists in power between the consoles. But it's cool I guess that the Xbone has had a design issue developers need to work with and that's why some of the games have had a lower resolution than PS4. And a new SDK to fix it should make the gap smaller, all things considered. It will never disappear, but it could certainly shrink.

Man, this GPU disparity keeps growing and growing. Just a matter of time before people claim PS4 has double the power. The real takeaway from this is developers are learning how to better utilize the hardware. |
People having been claiming such as difference for quite a matter of time and its possible that you may have missed as such.
I will wait to see the results that better understanding of both PS4 and Xbox One systems. From what I have seen so far the PS4 edge for third party titles ranges from minor to signifigant in titles such as Tomb Raider.
This is the Game of Thrones
Where you either win
or you DIE
All the devs that expected parity at E3 2013 (Kojima I'm talking with you) is saying the game will look best on PS4 now.
Sniper Elite 3 is better on PS4 too... dev confirmed.
12 Active Compute Units versus 18 Active Compute Units
768 shaders versus 1152 shaders
48 Texture Mapping Units versus 72 Texture Mapping Units
16 Render Output Units versus 32 Render Output Units
2 Asynchronous Compute Engines with 16 Queues versus 8 Asynchronous Compute Engines with 64 queues
If they achieve parity at any time during this gen, it's because developers are doing so purposefully. The PS4 should simply always have better results.
Is that why most Devs are showing PS4 trailers first than the Xbox One?
Xbox fans don't discuss these things with other vgchartz members all they are going to do is bash you discuss them in xbox nation. I have discussed power differences with many developers all they had to say both were equal in power almost just ps4 is easier to develop and xbox one is a little bit difficult. All these people bashing xbox one don't even know anything about cpu, gpu, ram or any other component of console properly. They are here to bash xbox and Microsoft nothing else. If you want to discuss these things discuss them in xbox nation.
lol.
I agree that the gap will close, but parity is out of the question.
