Forums - Gaming Discussion - Wii U only 2% of Ubisoft sales for Q3 2013 (PS4: 12% X1: 9%)

Reason behind Watch Dogs delay found! Can't blame Ubisoft though...

Always look on the bright side.. WiiU performs much better than the complete handheld sector together (3DS + DS + PSP + Vita = under 1%)

Afaik, they released 0 handheld games in Q3 2013 and only had one game which they'd shipped in Q2 2013 (Rayman Legends Vita).

Compared to 2 WiiU games released in Q3 (Assassin's Creed & Just Dance) and two which they'd shipped in the previous quarter (Splinter Cell & Rayman Legends).

I don't know why this is making me laugh so much.

Yeah, Ubisoft has given up the handheld sector completely, Nintendo + Sony together.

We'll consider these issues in a feature later today but the raw numbers don't lie

Raw numbers lie all the time. Especially when you don't, for instance, compare with development costs.

They also lie when you work off percentages rather than numbers. And when you don't factor in advertising and market development.

Even Wii sells more software than Xbone. Seeing this makes one understand why Ubisoft games always have exclusive DLC on PS platforms.

Just Dance 2014.

So Nintendo fans should love Ubisoft then as one of the last big publishers to recognize WiiU.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Fantastic.

Raw numbers are meaningless without interpretation. A trap many fall into on this site.

We have the Wii and the Wii U and have bought both Just Dance 4 and 2014. We just bought the Wii version because there isn't any reason to buy the Wii U version yet in terms of differences between the two versions. Several friends also have Wii's and so we can just bring the game and a couple Wii-motes over versus bringing the whole Wii U.

It will probably remain this way for the foreseeable future with us. They haven't really devised a must have feature for the Wii U. The game rolls out once a year for $40 and a bunch of new songs. There aren't any large graphical differences. They need to bundle the Wii U and Wii version together to see how many truly would buy the Wii U version. Considering the Wii version sells the most by far and has sold as many as 9 million total, there isn't much to lose in terms of Wii sales to Wii U sales.

It's all Ubisoft's fault though.

I hope you're not serious, what on earth could they potentially do ? They released every published game they have on the WiiU, and they're continuing their support, it's just that WiiU audience don't want to support their console.

If you're referring to Rayman Legends becoming multiplat, maybe it's just that pre-orders did not meet their expectations for an exclusive title.
