If anything at all Titanfall will only give the Xbox one a temporary advantage in the US but at best I think the numbers might just be even for a little bit when Titanfall drops. If the Xbox One gets any boost over the PS4 in the US it will only be a small one, I can promise you this.

the PS4 has MLB and Infamous.

MLB is an american centric franchise, so it should help the PS4, and infamous should do well.

Excellent PS4 sales! Now even though it's still early, if Sony can keep a nice 30k gap or so every week in NA they can build up a nice little lead for the duration of the year. That way when MS pulls the trigger on a Gears or Halo with a special edition console it won't do much damage in the states overall.

Go PS4!!

Apart from a Titanfall spike, I think that gap will grow in America (50K - 60K). I also think the PS4 will be outselling the X1 5:1 in Europe by mid March. Clearly Sony have been stockpiling for a huge launch in Japan but they won't need as many in that region after a couple of weeks, so they'll put more stock in Europe and America.

Once MS launches Xbox One in the rest of Europe it will go down to 3:1. I think with a price drop and big shooter releases this year they will take back the NA market. If they don't drop the price then it will be neck and neck in NA in 2014.

Why are microsoft fans so adamant, that the xbox will reclaim north america. And you act like sony is going to do nothing, you're basing this on microsoft without thinking of sony. This isn't 2006 anymore, times have changed and north america is up for anyone, it isn't waiting for the xbox.

P.S.4 is $100 cheaper than Xbox1 in NA

more people want P.S.4 simple as, due to it being cheaper and a better console

it's not as if by magic Xbox is auto guaranteed NA

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Still 2:1 in the UK. Still amazed by this.

Yep us Americans have never been loyal to a brand when it comes to game consoles.

2nd gen-Atari

3rd gen-Nintendo

4th gen-close battle between Nintendo & Sega

5th gen-Sony

6th gen-Sony

7th gen-Nintendo first half, Microsoft second half

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Europe Software up.

100k+ first week for Tomb Raider PS4 is pretty decent for what the game is.

I wonder what's taking so long with the Japanese numbers. Not like we don't know where they're getting them from... :P

I think the European numbers put to rest any idea of "but this port of Tomb Raider is selling like the WiiU enhanced ports!" Did a lot better on PS4 than I expected, actually.

Tomb Raider: DE is selling like old "updated" ports did on Wii U. I wonder if 3rd parties will cancel future projects or delay them?

On the plus side, next gen is doing well. Even old Wii U is up measurably over last year, showing some life. The death of XB360 is helping.

Arkham City did 29k. ACIII did 26k. Tekken Tag 2 did 11k. ME3 did 14k.

And this is WiiU's best region by far (both software and hardware). The European numbers for TR should be good as well, while for those WiiU titles they were abysmal at best in almost all cases.

So you're saying the Wii U late ports actually did BETTER than the late port on One?  Wow.  There really is no market for AAA, mature 3rd party titles on that system.  People only buy XBox One's for 1st party titles.

Not at all...

Looking at Europe and USA now it looks like Tomb Raider outdid pretty much any of the late WiiU ports on One alone. When we get WW numbers we can compare better. This is also despite this not only being a late port, but also a port that was already out on previous MS and Sony consoles (while in WiiU's case almost all of the games were new franchises to their owners on Nintendo platforms). But why remove the PS4 version from the discussion? Looks like it did easily over 100k FW on that console alone and since PS4 and One are both similar to PCs they are relatively easy to develop for at the same time.

Don't even try to tell me 100k+ FW is similar to the WiiU ports...Adding One in we're likely looking at about 200k FW. The WiiU ports did something like 20-50k FW WW (at best).

Those Wii U late ports were also mostly launch titles going to a FAR smaller install base FW.  The late ports on all systems are in the same ballpark, sales-wise.

No, I'm looking at all the late ports. In fact, I was looking at ALL multiplats lol.

Disney Infinity is probably one of the best selling ones. Did 44k WW first week. Again, not even close to Tomb Raider. I don't know how you can keep saying that.

Skylanders Swap Force did 32k. JD4 did 38k. Last year's JD did less than 10k iirc. Lego Marvel did 41k

The point is not so much the poor sales on Wii U, but that the sales on One and to a lesser extent 4 are not that great for a late port, either.
