Yea but what about system settings? You need to configure wifi since it doesn't have ethernet adapter and there is a mandatory day 1 update still I believe... Also, I think you do need a gamepad for the initial setup (but I forgot if its nessesary)

These are all small things though, if your main aim is to boot up the console and play games, once you have the setup and buying of things out of the way you can let the tablet battery run out with it stashed away in a cupboard and use the pro controller exclusively until you need to buy something or change settings.

Yea but I am saying it cause he apperently saw a wiiU on sale without a gamepad and a sensor so if he buy's a wiiU without a gamepad, I think its a big deal cause he can't set up anything then...

I couldn't update the system without my Gamepad. I had it in a corner and not even charged because I was too busy playing AC4 with the Pro controller. When it came time to update, it told me to connect my Gamepad.

Make the guy a really low offer, like $75, or even $50,(I don't think he will have many people wanting to buy one without the pad) and if you do need the game pad, maybe you can buy one and still get the whole thing for a cheaper price than a new one... I have no idea how much a replacement game pad would cost through nintendo(or if they sell them), or if you know someone with a wiiu, perhaps you can borrow theirs ever once in a while to do the small things.. Like the system updates, or the occasional eshop purchase.

oh when he said pad i thought he meant the pro pad, sensor as you will know is entirely optional.

OP, If it doesnt have the tablet, avoid unless its for a rediculously low price and you know someone with a WiiU who will briefly lend you their tablet.

90$ is what I'd be paying. Yeah I can get someone to loan me their game pad. I just needed to be sure I could work everything with it. I think this might not be good idea though.

if its the 32gb one, go for it, otherwise personally, id pass

$90 is quite cheap for a wiiU without a doubt so if you can find someone with a gamepad for that inital setup, provided you don't need to go to system settings or a few other things and just want to play Mario, I think its a great deal... But with that being said, the deal itself seems kinda sketchy... Why would anyone sell a wiiU without a gamepad in the first place? Just make sure its all legit and that you have a gamepad from somewhere to get the inital setup going... Also make sure that you are off of the wifi so that it won't ask u to update anymore after the first time

I'd be willing to pay $90, but I'll bet you the guy has no other offers... Offer him $75, bring the cash with you, and I'll bet you can get it. But if not, $90 not too shabby, especially since you can borrow a game pad when you need to. The game pad is largely unused in any actual games anyhow.... There's only one game coming that I think has a chance to make good use of the pad, watch dogs, because of the whole gameplay mechanics of it.... The wiiu is a great complimentary console. It goes great with my ps4!
