Nintendo and NSFW may both start with N, but they are not the same forum. Kinda the opposite really, in a way.



Unmario.
a steady stream of marios run along a 2.5D platformer environment. you design the levels in real time, adding level/world-specific obstacles, enemies etc, trying to prevent even a single mario to reach the end of the level. the longer you manage to hold him back the more points you get, which you can use to buy in-game stuff like special obstacles and enemy power-ups. at the end of castle and ghost house levels you get to control the boss.



GTA: Mushroom Kingdom.

Toads make up the general populace, while Bowser, Boo, Wario et al star as the drug-lord equivalents. Vehicles come straight from various versions of Mario Kart, while weapons come from Luigi's Mansion, Mario Sunshine etc. The usual goodies to feature as playable characters, similar to how Simpsons: Hit and Run operated.

Oh my God. Nintendo. Listen to this man! Please! At least an eShop title! At the start of each level, it would show Mario doing the infinite extra life trick with a koopa shell on the steps, then 99 AI controlled Marios would come through and try to win. It'd instantly be my favorite tower defense game ever.

i'm imagining each mario representing an actual attempt at beating the level as if it was a regular mario 2D platformer. so if you're adding a trap, a series of pits for example, the first few marios would fall in them until the AI mario "learns" how to time the jumps. and each mario "losing a life", generates more points for YOU. so you'll have time to keep designing the course in real time while the marios try to overcome the obstacles.
i don't really see it as just throwing out bob-ombs in front of a bunch of marios to kill them, it's more about designing levels. and as the marios behave like actual players, i think adding collectibles, 10-coinblocks and more puzzle oriented obstacles should hinder them as well :P
and there could occasionally be raining power-ups for the marios, such as fire flowers, racoon-leafs, invincibility stars and mushrooms increasing their speed, making it all a bit more hectic.
it'd be so cool to be able to customize everything, from enemy and platform movements to the duration of those sand-geysir things in the desert levels, to create difficult passages. ^^

Are you kidding? Nintendo is the only company which created an RTS console franchise that isn't influenced by, a ripoff or a port of existing PC RTS games.
