New versions of Grand Theft Auto V could come to other platforms, if that's where the gamers are, says Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick.

The publisher boss would not be drawn on whether the game will arrive on PC and next-gen consoles, or not, which isn't surprising as the firm leaves the marketing and announcement decisions down to the individual labels.

But when asked about launching GTA V on other machines, he did tell MCV that the firm is in the business of releasing its games on the devices that its fans own - whether that's PC, Xbox One, PS4, tablets or wherever these gamers may end up in the future.

"If that is where consumers are, absolutely [we'll release our game on that]," he said.

"But we wouldn’t drive them there, we would just be there if they are there. That is why we have a companion app for our basketball title, NBA 2K Everywhere. It is wherever consumers want to be.

"We are not in the hardware business, we don’t have any dog in that hut, we just want to be where the consumer is."

Iwata should take some money from the Nintendo bank account to make sure there will be a Wii-U version of every single AAA-3rd party title to come. There also should be lower license fees and much better developer support to rescue the Wii-U from being doomed.

His wording pretty much says it's not coming to WiiU. He doesn't mention it amongst PC, PS4 and XB1 and then says they will bring it where the consumers are for their games, Which is obviously not WiiU considering how third party sales are on WiiU and the fact that they haven't released a game on WiiU since NBA 2K13 at the launch.

(Not bashing the WiiU, But it's pretty obvious from how it's worded)

It's nice to see that they are considering bringing it to PS4 and Xbox One though, That PC version will be great for the modders and stuff too. I wouldn't personally buy it again since I enjoyed my time with it on PS3 but I haven't gone back to it since October and haven't felt the urge to do so (Didn't really like GTA Online)

Nah. I don't think Wii U owners want GTAV. They are happy enough with Lego City Undercover.  After all, it did sell more than every 3rd party on the Wii U so far.

Haha at the three Nintendo fanboys who are going to go running around the internet screaming "GTAV coming to Wii U! Wii U saved".

Of course GTAV is coming to PS4/XB1, everyone and their grandma could've called that.
