Forums - Gaming - Is Titanfall the game that Starhawk was supposed to be?

When I played the MP beta for Starhawk lag was not an issue. I thought it was fantastic and for a person who more or less avoids multiplayer shooters I was tempted to continue playing MP with the retail game. But I was mostly hyped for the potential of the SP campaign that the MP beta implied. Needless to say the SP was not good and that pretty much put me off continuing with the MP. I had much more important SP games to put time into.

You can maybe get away with a limited budget for SP/MP development if the SP is solid and the MP is compromised. But if the SP is compromised it might as well not be there at all, except as perhaps a 1-2 hour tutorial mode, which is called "tutorial mode".

I didn't purchase Starhawk because while it looked good, it looked like no one played online from all the videos I've seen. Considering it's pretty much an online game with single player tacked on, is the reason why.

It and Titanfall look nothing alike, and the only thing they have in common is shooting and titans/starhawks.

One has has 16v16 with mechs, and the other don't.

No. Titanfall is COD with mechs while Starhawk is a third person battlefield like game. Completely different style, just cause they both have mechs doesn't mean they're pretty much the same, that's like saying Battlefield and COD are similar.

Uh, no.

Unfortunately not, Starhawk had some bold ambitions and at times things came together well while at other times things could be in complete disarray.
TitanFall is just CoD with a few added twists from the former founder of CoD studio. It's essentially the same thing I played in November, but instead of dogs, jetpacks.

Not really, they look very different.

Starhawk probably should have been F2P. Large scale games like that are often niche or appeal to PC gamers.

If Titantfall's quality is anywhere near Starhawk's MP I will be endlessly happy. Starhawk (imho) is the best MP game I have ever played and one of the best games I have ever played.

The titans look like they were made from recycled garbage trucks.

Wierd I didn't know garbage trucks can walk.
