Yeah. The The Last of Us bundle here where I live costs 290 euros. For 124 more you can purchase a Ps4 with the Knack game bundled. It's crazy!

Makes no sense to me, really need a price cut for both.

I've been puzzled by the back and forth on these numbers for a while so I decided to go back through the Sony & MS financials to get the annual shipped numbers from source.

X360 numbers are easy as MS always states them straight up.  PS3 numbers are fine except for FY12 (FY11 and earlier listed PS3 separately.  FY13 only contains PS3 & PS4 and we know PS4 was 4.2m, leaving 6.7m PS3s).

For FY12 I've assumed 4m PS2s (just 100k less than FY11) leaving 12.5m PS3s.

So that gives us 83.6m PS3s and 82m X360s shipped.  Assuming similar numbers on shelves the PS3 should be 1-1.5m ahead in sales.

Is there a glaring error in my calculation somewhere?

So 360 is ahead in shipped, and PS3 ahead in sold?

Attacking fan bases for no other reason than to "win one" for your console maker, taking pot shots at users who aren't even part of the discussion, mocking the OP despite the work he's put into the thread, posting pointless off topic straw man arguments to try and discredit the entire discussion...

And you all wonder why sales discussion has turned to a load of crap. Or why we've built these giant console specific threads just to have decent console specific conversations. Or why ioi's even said himself that the flaming and trolling has gotten out of hand. It's absolutely ridiculous to have to tredge through the (very) thinly veiled agendas and "console alliegances" just to have a decent conversation.

I just wish we could actually post informed and on topic responses instead of "taking one for the team", and that if someone didn't have anything constructive to say that they would *gasp* refrain from posting and move on. As much as a "push" that ioi and the mod team have on this site, it's you all that either drive this forum forward or let it stumble through all the console wars.

How am I pretending that? You're the one subtracting numbers here to meet your agenda. It's funny how it's all of a sudden "fair" for you to exclude numbers. I might just exclude the numbers of people who just bought a PS3 for a Blu-Ray player then, seeing as in the first few years it was one of the cheapest and feature rich on the market...... Oh, might add all the RROD Xbox 360's too, considering MS can't include them as a resale.... It's lying to shareholders. Oh, guess MS is up to 90 million Xbox 360's in the wild.... Xbox 360 wins, by 30 million sold to consumers. If you got here assuming I was being serious, you really need to take a break from this site. If you pulled a tl;dr, your reply will be golden.

They aren't thinly veiled. You can look tell the posters who want to keep up the petty wars no matter what. Act like they are getting paid to downplay. I'll never understand this type of mess.
