Did you use Pokemons from Gen 4, 5 and 6?
Why don't you make like a tree and get out of here?

I used Blaziken (to see what all the fuss was about), Charizard (got X soley for the dragon mega evolution), Delphox (I'm with you, that final form is really disappointing), Talonflame (needed a flyer and he was pretty cool), Honedge (which I actually evolved all the way to Aegislash, very unique Pokemon, totally worth the search for the stone), and an Eevee which I evolved into a Sylveon (wanted to try out Fairy, was quite pleased with the performance). I also trained a Pikachu for a while because I liked that they made him talk. I like gen 6 pokemon a lot better than 4 and 5 Pokemon, but my favorite Pokemon are mostly from the first two gens, though I like a few from 3. I'll eventually try to differentiate a little more by replacing Blaziken and Talonflame with Gardevoir and...I haven't really decided yet...

Nostalgia was somewhat part of the appeal to get me to try X, but with all the improvements gen 6 brought, I can say that it did genuinely reawaken my love for the franchise, and it feels great.

Its only going to get better each new installment
Glad ya like it. This gen deserves higher sales than gens 3-5 seriously!

4/6 are Fire type haha. At some point I was training Charizard, Pyroar and Fletchinder but ended up ditching the last two.
Electric has been always my favorite type (especially electric cats or dogs) so I'm might train Luxray at some point (I was really dissapointed with Manetric in Gen 3 and its Mega evolution makes it looks horrible hahaha), I do not think it can surpass Jolteon though.
Where is that damn stone anyway?

Agreed, heck as far as I'm concerned it deserves 20mil + sales. It's my favorite version after Crystal. And as far as things getting better, what made X/Y so good was that it embraced the social aspect that made Pokemon so huge in the first place, using online capabilities properly for the first time to make trading and battling with others even better (4 and 5 tried online things somewhat, but 6 really got it right). Between that and actually throwing a bone to the competitive community with super training to help with EVs, this gen is really helping Pokemon to become a huge phenomenon again. If Pokemon continues to grow in these areas, I could see it getting even bigger. I wouldn't be surprised if a future gen of Pokemon managed to outsell the 1st.

Outselling the first? That would sure be one of the greatest comebacks in all of world history. Not that I'm an authority on the subject, I know very little about comebacks. But a future generation of Pokemon outselling the first..... I sure would love to live to see such a day.

Yeah I had to look up how to find the stone online. There are several places to find it, but the easiest for me was to take a Pokemon that I'd fully EV trained to the Secret Super Training challenge called "Watch Out, That's One Tricky Second Half!" It's the challenge where you're against an Aegislash balloon bot (see what they did there?). You have a chance of getting a dusk stone if you win. I just did it over and over again till I got the dusk stone.

I think it's possible, but would depend on several things. What made the first game so strong was that it became a phenomenon. More than just a fad, it built a lasting community. What helped it do that were the social aspects of it. The trading and battling with friends, which you could do anytime, anywhere since it was a portable system. It was more than just a multiplayer game. It was a viral social sensation. The things that made it viral the first time have been made so much more powerful in the recent versions due to the online capabilities, which, while the best in the series, still have room to improve. For a future gen to outsell the 1st, it would have to expand on the online capabilities (which I think Nintendo is working on with the Nintendo Network, so this is bound to happen eventually) and it would have to be on a more successul system than the 3DS (which they're also working on, but we'll see how that goes).
