Probably either Smash Bros or Zelda... depends on unknown variables.
If the game of the generation is any of those, I'm gonna be a little let down. The game of the gen is probably a new IP that we haven't heard of yet, and it will probably come out in the second half of the gen.
While possible, I doubt any of the games that we know of right now have a chance at being a game of the generation. There haven't been many titles announced and we have atleast six more years with these consoles being current gen.
For me, I think the only games we know of that may have a chance to be game of the generation is Infamous Second Son and Super Mario 3D World.
My GOTG is not announced yet. But in case that this is going to be a bad generation I'm going with Borderlands 3 or Mirror's Edge 2 or FFXVI.

Seems like an interesting thread to revisit once the generation is over.
With that said, out of the already announced games, Second Son and The Order certainly have potential to be in my "best of the gen" list. I can totally see Uncharted 4, FFXV (or XVI, if it's even released this gen) or Naughty Dog or Santa Monica next game taking the top spot. Metroid U could also have a chance.
But every single gen so far had a new IP as my GOTG (with the exception of the 5th gen).
