I don't know... Got WiiU with Sonic Lost World, ZombieU, Super Mario 3D and Zelda Windwaker and all 4 games are awesome.
Different experiences for different peeps...
That's like buying a PS4 plus Knack and saying the console is crap because of that one game.
Obviously Mario and Sonic at the Olympics is shovelware, how is this a surprise for you? This has never been an AAA game.
Buy Pikmin 3, Super Mario 3D World and Zelda: Wind Waker HD(if you haven't played it yet). Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is coming out soon and it looks great. After that there's Mario Kart 8 which looks like a huge step forward graphical wise compared to Mario Kart Wii.
Don't blame the console because you bought a shitty game. I assure you shovelware exists on all platforms.

Like a lot of people have said you definitely need to try some other games. I totally understand buying Mario and Sonic. The kids get a game they enjoy and you get an extra controller to boot. Win win in my book. I love my Wii U, but my kids love it more. Just give it a little time and a chance and it will grow on you. How are you enjoying your Xbox 1 by the way?

Sounds like me, although I got my WiiU last year because I was moving, didn't want to buy an old Wii and decided to invest on the new platform. I used it as a Wii machine for 4 months (with some NintendoLand on the side), and it did perfectly fine although with some kinks (I would have liked a better integrated backwards compatibility). I think it was April that I bought my first WiiU titles, with NSMBU and NAN; those together to NintendoLand showed me stuff that was not possible on the Wii.
What other little complaints did you have? Share them with us!
Also, aren't the OS updates already installed in the new SKUs? And I agree that updates should be pushed in the background by default, and with the newer OS it is possible to download and install on the background, even while the console is on standby.
And has that summer/winter update been released yet? The one that was supposed to increase the speed even further than that spring update did.
Bad choices. You should have picked up Super Mario 3d World, or Pikmin, or Lego City Undercover, Wonderful 101 or even any Ubisoft / Activision / Warner / Tt game.
