When I was a younger, I use to go at my friend's house all the time just to play Smash Melee, and that made me buy the Gamecube not long afterwards, so that I could also invite friends and play.
I bought the Wii not because my other friends had one, but to be able to play Twilight Princess and Galaxy. Although they did ask me why I didn't have a 360 and simply I simply told them that the games (mostly shooters) just didn't interest me.
I bought the Wii U before any of my friends, they are waiting for the next Zelda and Smash before getting one because they love those franchises.

I guess there isn't much peer pressure in my case, all my friends had a Wii and a 360, but it was for the games/experiences more than the actual ''buy that console to play COD together'', most likely because we play online on PC already...

It's not like all my friend are buying one system. Some are getting an XBO, others are getting a PS4. I went with PS4 because that's the system I like more, and I'll play with whichever friends get it too.

If I did, it certainly wasn't intentional. I buy what interests me. Yeah, I've had discussions but, at the end of the day, it's usually me alone with the controller and nothing else matters.

Unfortunately, most of Spain's gaming is reduced to Fifa, Pes, Call of Duty, Battlefields and Need For Speeds. I remember when I went to purchase Catherine and the guy at the retail store told me only five units came for the 360 and they had already sold four. I'm still looking for those mates who purchased the other units

I usually lead the trend in my gaming group. I got a PSP first, 360, Xbox One, original Xbox... They all followed. I have a 3DS and now I have one mate who'll join when smash comes out. The others seem past portable gaming tough.

No, I am an introverted person, which always lead me to NOT follow trends and fashion in general. That is why the WiiU is looking more and more appealing for me these days, I am all for the underdog.
Also, I did not had money to buy the PS4.
That said, I decided to buy all of them before 2014 ends, if I am alive till there.

One of my homies got a Wii U. The rest of the bunch got a PS3 recently. They are the kind of guys that name every console ever named "La Playstation" though.

Haha a similar thing ones happened in our local newspaper. It showed a report about a soccer player and that he liked gaming. Underneath there was a picture saying "He sure does enjoy the Playstation" while holding an N64 controller
