My school teaches game art. 

My best friend bought a PS3 a month ago, along with Diablo 3 of all things. He's been picking up a few exclusives he missed and is waiting patiently for Persona 5 to get announced for the west.

My other gaming best friend, massive Xbox fan, also hasn't committed to either of the next gen consoles yet. I have no doubt he'll pick up both eventually; Xbox first whenever Halo eventually launches, but he's shown no interest in either.

All my friends who I keep in touch with who game on PS3, particularly friends from uni, are still playing on PS3. None have shown any intention to get a next gen console thus far.

It's stuff like this which made it so hard for me to believe that initial hype for the next gen consoles was so high. No-one I know has or even wants one, apart from myself, and I'm really in no rush to pick up a PS4.

Maybe we're just not the right demographic anymore. Too old, or too poor, or somesuch.

Resogun is a hit at my school everyone wants to try it and then they get addicted. These are friends who have NEVER played a game before. They hardly ever showed interest when the rest of us would play and now...BOOM they're addicted haha

RBI Baseball is coming to Xbox One. It might be an even worse game than 2K's, who knows. But the Xbone will have an MLB game this year, just to correct you.

Also, LOL @ this idea that an MLB game is a huge coup but Titanfall can just "be replaced by any shooter".

Would you say The Show was a great baseball game?
Would you say The Show was leagues better than 2K's shit baseball attempt?
Would you agree with the developers that The Show is the best sports franchise of last gen?

And yet the latest release on a console with (at the time) nearly 80,000,000 users, it has barely cracked half a million units.

Yes, clearly this is a juggernaut of a franchise and it will sway millions of people to go to PS4 because it's been such an integral part of the PS3. lol. It will sway a tiny amount of people. It will sell more than 12 or 13 did, being a launch window game and all, but please do not compare it to a megahyped shooter.

Yeah, but hardware doesn't make the entire experience, games do and I never said Microsoft won in general, just the launch. We played COD on the PS4 and it was much crisper, but all we had to play outside of Killzone was resogun. Thats when the whole "WTF is a Resogun?" joke started. We played Dead Rising and Killer Instinct and it was the time of the night. 

They liked the game, they just made a joke. It wasn't enough to sway their opinions though. They tend to play all consoles. They were just going in the direction of what was more fun at the time. 

The PS4 most likely will have more diversified genres, but Microsoft at my dorms has taken over. Half the people who have PS4's at my dorms aren't even really playing all out on them. My friend beat Killzone and got mad at me for not buying the PS4 and jumping the gun. He played the Xbox One now and he realized that he jumped the gun. He's getting the Xbox One now too, so he'll have both. He knows Sony's library will rapidly increase but it will take time.

its crazy to me that people choose a console based on games at launch which will differ widely than what will be available in the long run. I buy my console for the games i know will be coming to it, not what launches day 1.

Bingo. Same @ dorm mates.

They are mostly PC gamers since half of them make assets for games on a daily basis and play League of Legends and DOTA all the time.
