Forums - Sales Discussion - PS Vita Sales Increase by 163% in UK Following Launch of PS4

Yes, but I mean, it's like it caught them by surprise or something. I would have expected a more "international" Western release. So I wonder if UK stock has suddenly sold through faster than expect.

Think they did ok.. With a reversion its always about timing the pricedrop of the old version and creating demand for the new one..

By selling out before the new one hits it creates demand for the new version.. In theory.. The only problem is with this new Vita is that the price of the new version is waaay higher then the pricedrop of the old one.. Making people hunting down the old one and probably not wanting the new one

New model is always a good move and it sells no matter the price...

It sold.... poorly. But ethomaz said it sold, not that it was exceptional.

I think the Wii U saw a similar rise post PS4 launch. The PS4 really does everything!

So... sales increased from nothing to almost nothing.

They killed it with fire!! But no it was not a good move and probably the reason why sony didnt go with a psp 2 name but vita as it the go hurt the brand name

I have to agree it wasn't a good move (more because of the implementation way than because of the idea)... not sure about the second part because PSP still sold better than PSVita for quite a long time "despise the tarnish in the name".

I don't think that 163% added much.
