Yeah, that was a hard time for the brand "PSP".

at least for the psp it was "side project" to test the market that occurred quite late in the psp lifecycle.

...if ms is hoping a disc driveless xboxone will turn it's forutunes i think they'll be very disappointed.  there are few who would truely commit to digital download as their only option to game and lots of those were probably lined up for a day-1 edition.

i don't think ms would stop selling the higher price disc based xbone anymore than sony didn't stop selling the drive based psp.

...but coupling the removal of features with a massive price cut this early in the lifecycle?   it's obvious MS is not happy with the current sales rate and is hoping to increase them just like when ps3 ripped out features like BC in order to be able to afford a price cut.  i don't think this model will do it.  it's launch will probably resemble that of the psvitaTV.

What is the point of this? The ps3 was doing crap and they got rid of BC...a price cut in year 1 = we are getting beat and messed up. PS3 year 1 - disaster lol.
