Forums - Nintendo - Part of Nintendo's new strategy for North America

Why do some people assume that this is the only thing they are doing. Its pretty obvious that this is only one tiny piece of a large strategy. This is just a little tidbit someone picked out of a statement, this in no way means that Nintendo has nothing else prepared...

People find a way to turn even good news into bad news these days @.@

Anyways, there have been a good number of games that I wanted to play that never got released in the USA (namely Fatal Frame and Captain Rainbow). I hope this also means that they will be doing more to give us simultaneous worldwide releases (which they have already took a few steps towards with Pokemon)

This is good news for a possible Dragon Quest VII localization but I think localizing niche games is not going to make a big difference.

Yes.....it is genuinely too bad that we didn't get Captain Rainbow, or the third Chibi Robo game, or either of the Fatal Frame games, etc. Nintendo themselves should have been on the ball bringing Xenoblade to NA sooner than they did, and they themselves also should have published The Last Story and Pandora's Tower.

But this is good news for the future. I'd love to think we'll get Captain Rainbow somehow...but really, it's a Wii game. I don't see it happening by now.

Honestly, they have been pretty good with some games but horrible with others. The 3DS hasn't really been hit badly due to the fact that the past year plus has been a great schedule where you get high value titles once every 2-3 months. Time will tell if they can live up to a similar pace in regards to the Wii U, especially given the fact that even in Japan where it is doing better and more in line with other home consoles it is struggling to get titles on the shelf.

Thats what I was thinking.  Just a step in another direction that will (hopefully) help their hardware sales.

it was a bout time Nintendo started to publish big Japanese games on their consoles, since their own mother Co.s dont dhow enough competence to do so...

Thank god. There were a couple of Wii games that never made it over here that I would have bought. Zangeki no Reginleiv and Disaster: Day of Crisis being the two big ones. Then of course there was the whole thing with the Operation Rainfall games.
