I've been seeing xbox supporters say the franchise had run it's course. I don't expect this to be big news all of a sudden or is that attitude going to change now that a PS4 version is less likely?

After Judgement, yes, Gears ran it's course. But now that Epic isn't lazily handling the franchise yes our attitude has changed.

And it is a plus that it will never come to PS4.

I hate this type of attitude. Why is it a plus it will never come to PS4? You should be saying it's a plus that the franchise might once again prosper.

OT: This makes me happy though. Maybe, just maybe, we will get the next Unreal Tournament. Do it Epic!

For the people wondering about Black Tusk's New Ip this is from Black Tusk. And seeing as Gears was just bought it will likely be years before the next gears.

“Big games, big teams, big budgets, long timelines […] What that means is we are working on Microsoft’s next big entertainment franchise. We’re not working on an existing franchise, we’re looking to build the next Halo here in Vancouver, for example, which is really exciting. We are building something from the ground up.”

So hyped, I expect this "next Halo" from Black Tusk to be this year and Gears in 2016-2017

Honestly, I really don't understand the people those who ignore great games just because of console bias. I am a Xbox fan, but I really enjoy those great PS3 exclusives. I will never overlook any good game just due to they are on other platforms.

Basically this.  I'm typically "Fuck Sony....new Uncharted? Day one purchase!"  I lovve good games and I don't care who makes 'em.

Remember those threads with Sony fans getting hyped over what seemed to them 100% chance that the next gears of war will be on ps4? I gotta find those and get a good laugh XD
What's even funnier is that most of these guys will probably revert to "meh, GoW isn't that good" mode.

Hey, some franchises don't need to continue. Gears was a breakout, it told its stories and was (for me) THE 7th gen franchise. I don't want M$ to ruin it. Oh well, if it's good I'll buy. If it's not, I'll still have the older games.

Have some faith, I think Microsoft learnt from the Rare experience.  They haven't spent what was likely tens of millions of dollars on Gears just to fail to invest in it properly.

Look at Halo, the games from 343 have been fantastic (thus far).  They know how big this franchise is, they'll treat it like the asset it has grown into.

No way man. We saw what? A 10 seconds trailer... I'm dying to see what Black Tusk are working on but I do not believe it is going to be out this year :(
And I really hope the Gears of War game is not going to delay that other game too.

is this a recent quote?

...building up a big franchise only to discard it before it releases to use the gears IP seems, weird.   either they already have two teams or maybe their existing game will be reskinned with the gears IP.   i just can't see them putting all the work to "build the next halo" only to pick up the gears IP...

Its a plus because arrogant Sony fans don't respect MS exclusive franchises/devs unless that game/dev comes to Playstation. Then all they do is rub it in Xbox fans' faces.

Why is this big news? The other 4 games in the series have all been on Xbox. It's like if Sony announced the next Ratchet and Clank is exclusive to playstation... no shit...
