Did Nintendo delay Donkey Kong because they have no games (early) 2014 ?

I think they did not delay it because they need more time. Without Donkey Kong we would have no games until mario kart 8 release for WiiU.

Actually I thought 2014 would be better then 2013

I know Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. are high quality games and I am very excited !! But without 3rd party support, I do not see why 2014 should be better. And I am pretty sure that games like AC5 will not come to WiiU anymore.

Well they have not much to spread so they have to spread it thin.

Many of the games not on Wii U I can play on PC. The rest don't interest me.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Though to answer your question -- yes.

Not totally indefensible though. Ultimately means more hype, more sales.

Why do you bring up all titles through 2014 when the topic is about early 2014 releases?

Anyway, cross out all multiplatform releases and you will have a dramatically different picture. Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and/or PC users will also have access to those titles, so I don't see why comparing Wii U to PS4 specifically would make much sense.

Most importantly, however, delaying Tropical Freeze was the right decision regardless of their reason.

I think so. They wanted to avoid the same drought as last year (no retail games in Jan or Feb). I think, however, that they should have released it in January right around this week as the sales collapse is happening all over again.
