Forums - Sales - Tomb Raider: Definitive edition will outsell every individual Wii U 3rd party game

Combined: TR:DE will outsell every Wii U 3rd party

Yes 70 54.69%

Maybe... 57 44.53%

Total:127

I think the Ps4 version could probably outsell ZombiU by itself after a few price drops.

I haven't heard much about the game, saw some pics and the visuals looked good, but if it's bad then I'd have to agree with this^

That's the type of attitude I was talking about the other day regarding elitism some Nintendo fans show. What does that even mean "it says a lot about the user base"?

It says to me that a new crop of console owners are willing to pay for a pretty good game.  Tomb Raider was a highly praised game that is getting a re-release version on two new consoles.  Nintendo fans (not all) like to throw out the "a lot about the user base talk" but say nothing about Wii Play, Wii Music and other horrible games that had mass appeal.  Many feel that if the Nintendo Seal of quailty is not present on the box for these PS4/Xbox 1 games somehow something is a miss.

OT:

Im guessing this will start the wave of many more games that were released for the PS/360 to get ports to these new systems to give them a second life.  I can see ubisoft doing the same with Spinter Cell and Square Enix doing it for many more games.

well, lego city undercover is the most succesful 3rd party game on wii u with 0.69m, i cant see Tomb Raider failing to achieve such a goal.

It has 85+ meta and a lot of people consider it a contender for GotY. A ton of bad games sell well on Nintendo consoles too and I've never heard a Nintendo fan say anything about their user base.

You are correct, I was confused and thought this was a new Tomb Raider, not a visual upgrade to the one on PS360.

My mistake.

It's not only a visual upgrade. It includes all the original DLC, a digital version of the Dark Horse comic, a mini art book and developer videos.

I bought Tomb Raider on the PS3 when it came out and I will buy it again on the PS4.

Probably

I'm excited for you and I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks me and millions of people will enjoy the game!

And I'm glad I educated you on the matter!

It looks like you have income to spare, I think is a great game for those who never play it on PS3, 360 or PC, but full price for visual upgrade, useless DLC, developer videos, a bad comic and a mini art book? Don't seems worth it.

I litterally got schooled, but it doesn't bother me because I am able to admit when I'm confused. :)

I'm honestly not sure it will sell millions (not realizing this is an update), but it should sell maybe a little over one million?

Games that come out early in a console's lifespan tend to have good legs. It should easily cross 1 million and I personally think 2 million. And lately there hasn't been anything new to play on the PS4 and the XBO so I'm sure that will sway people into buying Tomb Raider. Many people haven't played it on the PS360 and many people loved it enough to replay it (like me).

I never said I would buy it full price lol

The game will sell a lot in the bargain bin.

They actually buy 3rd party games?
