I doubt it. I expect 120 million, but anything could happen.

Isn't that from Nathan Fillion's other show, Castle? Doesn't look like the Serenity in the background, nor is that Malcolm Reynolds' outfit. |
God dammit, don't ruin this for me. LOL

PS5 or whatever it's called will replace it in fall of 2018 so, no way this happens. The PS4 won't even sniff the PS2s totals. No home console ever will IMO because that was the peak of console gaming. We are now in transition to service game like PS Now. I expect home consoles to slowly erode until they become non existent. Handhelds will last a bit longer, but will die as well.
In the future, we will have the option of streaming whatever service we want to whatever device we own.

Because KZ is the ONLY game that is sold on the PS4. Brilliant, your train of thought...absolutely brilliant. |
Uhh... No one said KZ was the only game that sold on the PS4. Did you even read what I said?

I for one don't want this to happen remember when sony dominated with the ps2 well they were so confident from the ps2 that they thought everyone was going to buy the 599.99 dollar ps3 and it failed the ps3 was a disaster until maybe 2010 when they dropped the price and stated releasing more games

Its a bit more then that, MS did all they could and wii was the wii. PS3 did extremly well despite all the disadvantages and early sony fuck ups.
PS2 gen was best gaming gen. One clear winner = best for the gamer.
It will do 150 millions max
PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m
Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

I love posts like this, because they're entirely based on holiday sales, and therefore, have no substance whatsoever. People must understand that the PS4 broke all records mostly due to several different factors. 1) The industry needed next gen to happen and gamers wanted it really really badly. 2) The PS4 is new tech. 3) The previous generation lasted for far too long. Because of this, the industry became a bit distorted, and somewhat stale. The PS4 was more like a breath of fresh air from an old attic. However, like all anomalies, we must be cautious in making our predictions (especially on holiday sales). What may seem like something totally successful, may cause problems later on for either the company in question or the system itself. We have to give the PS4 until March to see how it's doing. Holiday sales simply isn't enough to go by just yet. Also remember that Sony is selling their system at a loss. I don't know the specifics, but I hear it takes the sale of one game to make that loss into a gain for Sony. However, I'm not too sure if Sony means first party games or 3rd party games (because many 3rd parties pay little to nothing in regards to royalties). Many of Sony's first party games aren't selling extremely well (with Killzone: Shadow Fall a bit over a million copies sold compared to over 4 million PS4s sold). It means that Sony is taking a massive blow financially just by selling the PS4. Maybe Sony can make up for a good portion of those losses in Japan when the PS4 is finally available there, but it wouldn't be enough to cover the total losses Sony is incurring for the PS4 world wide. I mean, we could be potentionally looking at another Dreamcast scenerio. |
Where are you getting these 'facts' from?

Unless you want to argue that indie's aren't third party, but as we all should know, Sony does pay many third parties to bring their games over to their systems (such as GTA5).
