I'm not entirely sure where to post this, but...

Some of you probably already noticed it from my sig, but I thought I'd get some feedback from the community in a direct post about it!  I'm new to this, and I've already made adjustments to episode 2 based on the feedback I got from episode 1.  Whether you like it or hate it, any feedback will help me.  I've already made adjustments from feedback I received from my national car club forum, which is mostly PS/XBox guys, so I am open to what you think about it!  This is episode 2 where I review Super Mario 3D World, and give a gameplay hint for The Wonderful 101:

http://youtu.be/pW78sugZF4A

I DO think I tried to cram too much into one episode, I was on the wire trying to get it under 5 min, and had to make creative cuts that I think have led me to believe that a game review should just be a single episode on its own...

Enjoy!  Or don't, either way... haha :P

While I'm not certain it's a show I personally would watch, it is a solid start. The main suggestions I have are ones that people have already mentioned, though I would offer a couple of my own.

1. Watch your headroom, especially if you put something on your head. It's a little thing, but it can be noticeable if the top of your head/hat (or in this case, bag) is cut off.

2. Since this show is on a budget, I'm not going to mention equipment, but there are other things you can do to touch up your audio. One thing I'd recommend is more consistent audio between transitions. Either extending the game-audio between clips or toning down the game-audio in favor of something like background music would make the cuts between game footage and yourself in front of the camera less jarring. It's not a huge detail, but it definitely sounds better.

I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.

Unfortunately, in terms of the software I'm using to edit, let's just say it's free, and cannot handle the proper fading and cuts even *I'M* used to on more advanced video editing software (I've used Adobe Premiere back in my heyday, this free one is garbage compared to what I used almost a decade ago!).  This is, again, a budget limitation, lol

Edit: And about headroom, I did tell myself already that I need to angle the camera just a bit higher, lol

in humor or otherwise, basically stating you would give anything out of said studio 10, no matter what, kinda.. no.. totally removes any point to making any serious comment on the games later on the video. Sure existing Nintendo fans would find it amusing but said fans wouldnt be the ones watching reviews of games they have most likely already purchased, to anyone on the fence or more leaning towards other consoles, nothing pushes potential viewers away quite like a flat out admission of bias.

Joking about bias then jumping straight in to a review? Poorly thought out, it's like joking to a kid that you eat cats, then asking to hold their cat.

Funnily enough, with my normal humor, I would do exactly that.  In fact, I'd ask to hold the cat, THEN talk about how I like eating cats... >:D

Which you should find amusing, but would the child?, then ask yourself, would the average viewer find joking about blatent bias before a review funny?

What I just defined is known as satire.  My normal humor is generally sarcastic satire, so there is generally a victim at the expense of amusement for others.  Now, I make that sound WAY more sinister than it is, because it's just known as "teasing" in real life.

So you don't find bias funny as a joke.  I know that there is no way I will be able to please everyone, what some may find funny, others won't.  That's just how this kind of things goes.  Unfortunately, your "feedback" is bordering on "opinion": you just don't find it funny and I get that.  I may eventually say or do things you DO find funny, while other things you DON'T.  I can't help that, because humor has so many flavors that I cannot win.  However, if your feedback is to simply not joke about bias because you believe it undermines the review, than you can say that's your feedback.  Trying to convince me my humor needs to change, however, is entirely your opinion.

You are taking it to heart way to much.
Bolded for the part where you actually understand what I'm trying to get across to you, there's a time and place for jokes, but undermining large portions of your own video for a quick laugh is a poor approach.

You may take that as opinion or as feedback, and you may, and probably will choose to ignore it, which is fine, though you're letting your pride get in the way of understanding that if you have hopes for this to become a profitable venture, starting out of the gates by putting off a large portion of your potential viewership is a terrible approach to it.

You've no need to respond to this as I don't care to discuss it further anyway, take my advice or don't, It does not effect me either way.

Wasn't so sure about clicking on another thread with words 'Wii U' in it. Was pleasantly surprised with some positivity. Subscribed.
