Forums - Nintendo - Am I the Only One? (Super Mario 3D World didn't do it for me)

I loved the game from World One. Are you feeling okay? Do you have a soul?

Shhh... You're suppose to act satisfied.

i have a similar experience with this game when i tried to play it with my brother. imo the mp aspect of this game sux, but sp is quite enjoyable.

I had some fun with it, but I could definitely see a lot of people finding it painfully mediocre/dull.

I think the fanbase seriously oversold this one out of desperation for a Wii U system seller, which I think does more to damage the console and the game than anything.

Skipped it, I am sick of B-level Super Mario sub-series games. All I want is Mario Galaxy 3.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

I noticed you said you were playing the game with a Wii Remote? That could be the main reason why you did'nt like the movements and controls. Its the same reason why Street Fighter is a great game with a D-Pad but with an analog stick it sucks. I did try playing it with the D-pad and it makes the game very hard to play, but I am not sure any 3D platformer would work very well with a D-Pad. Its why I really didn't like Mario 64DS.

I just cant agree with you. I recomend to try it further and give it a chance, but of course is ok to not like X game that all internet love

I didn't quite understand your second last paragraph, people give bad ratings to 3D Mario? They are extremely high rated (which I fully agree with since I'm a fan of them).

But I agree with your opinion on 3D World. It's just so... bland. Still I finished it and thought it was okay fun, but not anywhere near 64 or the Galaxy games. 3D Land was also bland, but I believe the style of gameplay fitted with a handheld console. A home console game of this caliber should rather feel big and epic. And with that I hope that 3D World was just a one-off little experiment by Nintendo, and the next 3D Mario is not necessarily Galaxy 3, but at least a 120 star 3D Mario.

Yep.

SM3DW is a 355 star 3D Mario... No seriously, lol

To me the game felt too familiar. IMO it's nowhere near Galaxy's level. To me, it feels like a 2D.5 Mario game. I still thought it was an amazing game, but again, too familiar.
