Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft Responds To 'Games With Gold' Not Being As Good As 'Playstation Plus'

lol damage control, and MS know there beaten in this department it is a fact that psn is far better value I mean 12 odd games free at the moment (good games aswell). but microsoft are not willing to give up that much cost as there sole focus is on money. sony obviously focus on that to but no where near the extent of MS

Sweet on the One i get to KEEP my crappy 1990's game.

That doesnt make sense. It comes out Summer 2014. Meaning this time round games will still be £25/$40 brand new. So we will get launch games worth $40 in sumer absolutely free. And 2 per month. Or maybe 1 per month and 1 $15 Live title like Max The Curse Of the Brotherhood.

This time round imo Live Gold destroys PSN+ Rental service. As Xbox players are actually getting up to date free games. FREE.

What's worth $40? The WHOLE XBONE LINEUP was at $40 on launch week and Black Friday, LMAO.

And you Xbox fans only see plus a rental service, but you dismiss THE DISCOUNTS. I got Tales of Xillia, a game from August 2013, Puppeteer a game from September, and Limbo also an awesome game, all for $20. Can you get a similar combo of awesome recent games for $20 on Xbox Live? LMAO, NO. Ni No Kuni, the RPG of the year was at $13.99, Deus Ex Director's Cut for $20, etc etc, Xbox Live can't even compare.

LOL Gold also comes with discounts on games.  Anyway there are constant sales on XBox Live and you don't even have to have Gold to get a good deal just recently bought Midnight Club: LA Complete edition for $3.74 also could have bought Bully Scholarship Edition for that price but passed since I already did everything in the game and have all the achievements for it.

IMO Xbox Gold Games starts on The One in Summer 2014? Meaning the first games are only 6 moths old. So on the Xbox One at least this program imo is far better than PSN+ as users will be getting 2 games a month still worth £25 each brand new and TO KEEP, NOT Rent.

On 360 it started really late, and so we got games worth nothing and already played. But now we get games up to date and still worth money brand new.

IMO Ill take a free copy of DR3 in June to keep and then say Crimson Dragon? Thankyou Microsoft for saving me £50/month on games I would have waited longer to purchase.

Lol, DR and Crimson Dragon to cost 50 combined in June?? That I'd like to see.

I also find it highly unlikely that they'd do DR as their first game...

What are those games you've got recently that are still worth money and brand new?

PS4 owners have already got 4 brand new PS4 titles on the day of their release, with DriveClub being another on the way. I'd like to see MS top that.

Well you don't get the full version of Drive Club MS can top that by giving away DR3 as one of their first free games.

So a service that doesn't exist right now is better than one that gives players free games every month? Ok. Not sure how that works out.

It does exist right now its only on the 360 this month they gave away Sleeping Dogs and Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light.

You still get to keep games when your membership runs out do you not?

Yes you do but would you let your membership run out? Wouldn't you want to carry on getting games for free? With PS+ you get the game for a year and then when you resubscribe you get to keep it for another year, and so on. With Gold you get a game to keep but the likelihood is you'll subscribe again the following year. So basically the end result is exactly the same for both consoles. The only difference is PS+ games are better, newer and more numerous ... AND covers THREE consoles.

The PS5 Exists.

Comes down to personal preference, but I would rather rent games I want to play than own ones have no interest in. For me the time frame Sony offers many free game rentals is long enough for me to get what I want from them. If they still have more after that, fine by me as means got to experience a great game for a while and it is worth my purchase. For the $2.50 a month I spent on it easily exceeds its price in value.

I'm talking about the service for XBO which Selnor believes is better than the one on PS4 even though it doesn't exist.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

It probably will be better it all depends on what they will give out for free.  So far PSN+ on the PS4 isn't all that great and nowhere near as good as it is on the PS3 or even the poor Vita.

is clear. Psn games arerental , if not pay not paly. and Live games are yours forever.

Why are people just assuming that games for gold will be giving out brand new games for the Xbox One. I bet for the first few months the games for gold comes on to the Xbox one they will be $5-$10 downloadable titles just like it is for the PS4  right now.
