AMENDMENT (24/01): There appears to be a little bit of confusion of the framerates reported, and the fault is our own and our poor wording. We inaccurately used the term “average” when the math, in reality, does not add up. Logistically saying the average is ~30fps implies it exceeds and dips below 30fps, averaging at the number. That is not the case. What our sources have reported is that the listed FPS are roughly the most common targets during performance. So while the Xbox One version can reach ~45fps, for a majority of play it will sit around the ~30fps market, give a few frames. Same goes for the PlayStation 4 build, which in most cases hits around 60fps, take a few frames. Our sources have not confirmed exactly, but our own extrapolation of the information suggests you might say the average (accurate use of the term) Xbox One performance could be ~35fps, meanwhile the average PlayStation 4 performance may be ~55fps. Actual, concrete performance benchmarks will need to wait until the game is out for everyone, as we certainly don’t have them.

We apologise for any confusion from misuse of the term “average”, and hope this amendment better clarifies performance on both systems.

So we actually wont know until DF do their awesome tests.

But 10-15 fps difference between Xb1 and PS4 on their first game on average is really good news for Xbox One fans that care about Power as the most important thing. Looks as devs start to get on top of the different architecture on The One that they pull it much closer to PS4.

Mopst likely it's mainly 60-30 it fluctuating sometimes doesn't make it suddenly only a 10-15 fps drop difference, doesn't work that way. Talk about spinning numbers.

You said we need to wait then proclaim 10-15 fps difference, real consistency in your arguments I see.

majority of play for x1 30fps,majority of play ps4 60fps.... right from the horses mouth... all I need to hear if I was stuck on wich one to get,,,,, majority of time at 30 is not good when your tival is at 60 in most cases

Just being curious, here: IF, in a fantasy world, that you could play the superior console version of this game on the PS4 with an Xbox One controller, would you?  I know it's not possible, I'm just asking IF it was, would that change your buying choice?

Absolutely. Controller preference is the most important aspect to me when buying all consoles. If there was a way to use the One controller on PS4 with no secondary attachments, I would get the superior 3rd party multiplats, and IMO, the more varied first party games. The One would be used for only exclusives.

I think that gives it away slightly lol.  You know damn well you'd need an attachment.

Very good observation...lol.  I figured there was more to it than just the "obvious"...

I didnt make the numbers up. The site I posted it from is the site that started the numbers. They updated saying the average given was a mistake by them. Theres no spin, they started this whole thing. They updated to correct the situation. 30 fps is not an average, they messed that up. Its a minimum/market figure. But goes as high as 45. PS4 is the same. Average is not 60 fps. Its the maximum/market figure. It drops as low as 45. So its average is somewher between 45 & 60. Xbox One average between 30 - 45.

Thats why they updated their INCORRECT article.

And I was the one saying wait for DF.

But yeah Im very happy Xbox One with its architecture is much closer and still 1080p. Great times.

Alright.  I respect the Xbox One owners who are fans of certain series that appear on Microsoft-only consoles.  I even see the point of view of those that feel bounded by their previous Gamerscore/Microsoft Points collection, no judgement here.  But I find it EXTREMELY irresponsible to sit on forums and argue the fact of multiplat specs differences are "close"/"marginal"/"not noticeable".  That's what you just did when you spinned this article into a "only 10-15fps difference"...*smh*

The propaganda from some of you Xbots are incredible.

I distictively remember a lot of people last gen claiming they preferred the console with the better looking multiplats. And some of them are the same who claim they see no differnce in this gen

I think it's pretty humorous as well. The reason I had so many more games for my 360 was that multiplats were superior on the 360 for the most part. I don't even have an XB1 yet. At this point, I don't think I'll ever pick one up. I can't justify paying a $100 more that I did for my PS4 for a technologically inferior console. MS really dropped the ball on the XB1's hardware. Given the financial standing of the Big 3, I was sure that MS would have the hardware edge this gen. They had the most money, Sony's financials are precarious, and Nintendo just doesn't want to get into the arms race anymore. MS blew a huge opportunity. They had Sony the ropes and they let them off the hook.

And another one.

I don't think it really matters much for this type of game, but if you're going to waste $60 on a PC port, you might as well get the real definitive edition. Also, this means that the PS4 version is even better than the PC version. I wonder if they'll do a path for the PC one with the new effects and Lara model.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

"It doesn't really matter this type of game"...I so wholeheartedly agree.  It's a remake/remaster/redo (whatever) of a LAST GEN game.  I expected 1080p/60fps, of course.  I guess they figured the same thing, to be able to add the special effects from the PC version.  What I'm trying to say is...this isn't even a game to boast about being at 1080p/60fps...*smh*
