Ah, but that was when MS was a lot smaller. Now MS has become more powerful and greedy, so they wouldn't make it easy to partner with. Even when Nokia started putting Windows software on their phones, they were actually paying MS 500m Euros just for MS to support the software. But to be fair, MS was paying them to use the software. Still, at least MS was getting paid. Google gets nothing from campanies that put Android software on their devices.

I have seen a lot of threads recently that are not taking this rule into account and it's starting to annoy me.

Anyway, OT: Nintendo would rather go bankrupt than even consider this option. And with their conservative executives I don't expect this to change anytime soon, thankfully.

I think Nintendo would rather partner with Sony.

The problem with Nintendo + MS partnering is even if its successful, Nintendo might be screwed because in that scenario MS may push to buy Nintendo out. They have the money to do so. Sony doesn't even come close, so Nintendo could always remain independent, also both being Japanese companies makes a big difference I think.

Microsoft is only in the gaming industry to squash Sony. If they got desperate I could them trying something like this. They aren't threatened by Nintendo in the slightest.
