The PS4 is doing way better then I thought. It does'nt really have the games I want for it yet,but it will in a couple of months. The great demand just makes me want to pick up a ps4 earlier then I orginally planned,but due to lack of supply that's probably not going to be the case. I've stated several times that I wanted to get a ps4 in june,then I changed my mind 2 march. Now,because of the lack of stock in North America,I just want to get a ps4 the first chance I get. This is all I'm thinking about for some reason. I usually have no problem at all playing the waiting game,but the high demand has me all hyped up for some reason,plus I've just had a bunch of pop and energy drinks,so that could be it. So,am I falling for the hype? was this a secret marketing tool bye sony? am,I 2 hyped up in this post? Will,oldschoolfool ever learn how to make a proper thread?

It's not hype, you're just making the right decision for your next gen purchase. Your eyes have been opened.

You're falling for the hype but it won't hurt you to get one now as I don't see the price changing anytime till probably 2016. However, it's typically better not to buy a console until at least one game you want to play has been released. If you buy it earlier, it will only serve as a coaster. Since KZ:SF was a letdown, mine is a coaster now.

Not missing much, I was hyped for the xbox one and now I barley turn it on, looking at the current library on both games I'm sure ps4 owners are also playing the waiting game on something worth playing.

I had the same thing happen to me. Give it time. If you buy it now without the games you want you'll get buyer's remorse. 

Just remember that it has no compelling games out yet... and keep telling yourself it that it will collect dust.

It won't drop in price in 2014, so you can as well get it earlier and enjoy the PS+ games if you want to wait for the games to drop in price. Still it's a great console that I'm enjoying immensely since 29th Nov. Ass Creed is great, I like Killzone very much, it's still keeping me occupied in MP, Knack is decent. Battlefield has majority of the issues ironed out by now, and honestly it looks really amazing, I would get it in a heartbeat if it didn't cost like 100$ with Premium.

If you buy a ps4 now, ur not really falling for anything... The ps4 has a lot of future potential and the price is also right at $400... Sure if you wait a year, u can get it cheaper with better exclusives but having a new toy is always fun even if you spend $50-$100 more for it instead of waiting till the price goes down. And there is something special about getting a new device and seeing it improve over time that you just can't have later on...

I think its a worthy purchase if you like Sony's first party as well as a lot of third party games... You surely can't go wrong, thats for sure
