Xbox only had one previous generation and it almost had an insta death. PS3 on the other hand will indeed die quicker than both of its predecessors.

I don't see PS3 having further downward adjustments. At 80 million shipped as of 2 Nov it would hav had to ship bugger all for 80.9 million to be over tracked.

Xb360 OTOH I can't recall what shipments are, but it hit 80 million before PS3, so it too would have had to ship bugger all units during the holidays for it to be on track, so I suspect you're right 360 should move up. I guess celebrations of PS3>360 were rather premature. I'm gonna say the technical victory has to go to 360 for having sold more than PS3 by the time the next gen had started, albeit with a 5 million + head start.

I got banned for saying that in 09 ...

Officially (VGChartz officially) PS3 was ahead on 16 Nov by 500K. But with future 360 adjustments (upwards I'd think) I'm picking that 500K lead will disappear to nothing and be reversed by a wee bit. Interestingly, I think the gap as at 16 Nov 2014 will be so close that it's within the VGC LTD margin for error. So way back in 2009 I was saying that PS3 vs 360 would be effectively a tie, and it looks like I'm right. But for the record VGC will probably eventually show that 360 edged PS3.

Holy Molly at Vita in US.. Not surprising after a terrible December figures. Luckily, it's still surviving in Europe and doing decent in Japan.
PS4 at the top !
There isn't much difference in sales this week though.

This year the gap between PS3 and X360 is nearly 2.5M, that's the biggest gap since launch. The gap is likely to continue to grow in the future.

 
I think at the end PS3 will have a lead of 5 to 6M on X360.

Key word: YEAR.

The sales data in VGC is still 2013.... the first 2014 data is 11th January 2014 but it is not up in the chartz yet (just US).
