Forums - Gaming - PS4's 'Better Terms' Make Xbox One Less Attractive

I like to develop some simple games sometimes. Im chosing One over PS4 cos of the dev kit.
I dont know if I would publish and make money. for now is a hobby.
But if is capable to anyone who has a XBO to do games, so MS have to easy to them to put their games avaliable to the public.

Future feature... for now you can get free devkit from both if you have a good project.

Seems we have had this thread before. Until MS actually enforces this on a game and it turns out to be anything special, it's a non-issue imho.

So much emphasis on Indies. Yawn.

Shame the article fails to point out its about $2000 cheaper to release on Xbox One. Microsoft don't charge $2500 for a dev kit like Sony. Why did the article miss that off? I expect from this year onwards Xbox One to be the console of choice for Indies due to less costs, meaning the OP will be a moot point.

That's not correct.

Seems you know nothing again, you can get 4 PS4 kits for the cost of an X1 kit,  but thats only if your buying, right now MS and Sony are lending kits to most indies.

This will change however if MS can live up to there promise of all consoles being usable as a kit.

No. You'd want to go with Nintendo in that case actually. They have really great policies for people just starting out. If you're seriously wanting to make a console game, Nintendo is the best place to start. Within a week of registering you can have a Wii U dev kit. Go sign up now!

The irrational for indies. I bet know of you can explain why indies are so bad.

OT: I hope MS change their polices

I believe it is.

Sony have only  'LENT' 'chosen' indie devs PS4 devkits for 1 year. After which they have to pay. Developers have confirmed it is indeed $2000 more expensive on PS4 Devkits. Largely thanks to every Xbox One being a devkit. Sony havent given ANY developer ANYTHING for FREE. Here read this article.
