Forums - Nintendo - Project cars Wii U, 3rd party done right??

Andy Tudor, the Creative Developer of Project CARS, has reiterated that the Wii U version of the game is looking extremely promising. Tudor mentioned that the team had got the rain effects working on the platform, which he claims is the most graphically intense weather setting in the game.

“I literally just had a blast racing around one of our tracks in the rain (the most graphically-intensive weather setting) and it held up pretty damn well. Of course there are optimisations still to be done but side-by-side, the Wii U version we have running in the studio is extremely promising.”

Thanks, LazyAnmtoR

I cannot wait for this game, i know these guys are going to big it up for the hype and sales, but i believe these guys are putting genuine effort in. If this does turn out to be a well polished effort, i hope its sales reflect and it raises the bar for any future 3rd party support.

I would have to see it to believe it tbh... I know its not gonna be nothing like the ps4/x1 version but I want to see how good or bad it actually looks... But with that being said... urgh, a Racing Sim. I am glad that they are supporting the wiiU while everyone else is saying nay but I am not a fan of racing sims, thats for sure

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

From the way they make it sound, I'm really hoping for big things from this title. Wish it had a better name but hey, whatchagonnado eh? Hope it lives up to the hype. I'll buy it if the reviews are good.

Im not really fussed as to how it stacks up against the PS4 and ONE, as long as it looks good enough and im sure its going to look just fine. Apart from being graphically decent, ive read that the gamepad will be heavily utilized and plenty of other control options will be available too. If online is going to be supported as well ( not heard anything regarding online as of yet) it will show that a quality 3rd party product is possible on the U.

Also, im quite excited about the prospect of a proper racing sim on a Nintendo system.

Yep your right, the game title is a bit meh. A bit like Fast Racing...you know the games is gonna be great, but that title.

It could be a good port but I think it will tank on the Wii U. There's no infrastructure for this genre on Nintendo platforms as traditionally there aren't any good racing sims.

CARS in this case stands for Community Assisted Racing Simulator.

Game is being developed for Windows, Linux, SteamOS, Wii U, PlayStation 4, Xbox One.

I'm not interested in driving games (anymore) but I think it's great that they develop the game simultaneously for the chosen platforms and that they don't ignore the Wii U.

Hopefully if it turns out great, it may actually sell ok. I think a lot of Wii U owners appreciate the level of effort and there is some good word of mouth going around like in Miiverse and other forums. Also kudos for putting the game on our system, especially as you point out that the hardcore racing sim doesnt exactly scream Nintendo, but maybe there might be a market for that, nobody has ever really tried.

good they try to get the best from each platform! props to the devs

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

It's a shame I despise sim racers, part of me wants to buy it to support them, because it sounds like they're putting genuine effort into the Wii U version, and that's a very rare thing.

If it can beat the awesome looking Need for Speed Most Wanted U for graphics, then I'll be impressed.
