Forums - Gaming - Why People Says "PS4 Has No Games"? (+33 Games, +10 Genres, Strong, Diverse, etc)

I fail to see how the 2 biggest fps franchises ( CoD + BF ) suddenly mean nothing for the ps4 launch....

It isn't the first time I read somebody saying that PS4 didn't have games when it have one of the best and strong launch lineup of the history of videogames.

Not just that the diversity is the key in the PS4 lineup.

Take a look of what PS4 have right now:

  • Angry Birds Star Wars
  • Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
  • Blacklight: Retribution
  • Battlefield 4
  • Call of Duty: Ghosts
  • Contrast
  • Don't Starve
  • Doki-Doki Universe
  • Escape Plan
  • FIFA 14
  • flOw
  • Flower
  • Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition
  • Just Dance 2014
  • Killzone Shadow Fall
  • Knack
  • Lego Marvel Super Heroes
  • Madden NFL 25
  • NBA 2K14
  • NBA Live 14
  • Need for Speed: Rivals
  • Pool Nation Extreme/FX
  • Putty Squad
  • Resogun
  • Skylanders: Swap Force
  • Sound Shapes
  • Super Motherload
  • The Pinball Arcade
  • Tiny Brains
  • Trine 2: Complete Story
  • Warframe
  • Zen Pinball 2

+ 32 games
+ Over 10 different genres

Everything a console needs to have a GREAT lineup.

So why people things "PS4 has no games"?

Take out all the games that it shares with the PS3, does it still look that great to you? PS4 only games should be the buying point of one IMO, the rest are just PS3 HD+ games.

but those games are superior on PS4 not only for improved graphics and framerate, but for superior online functionality and improved controller.  Also Several of them are NOT on PS3 and of course Resogun, Contrast, and Don't Starve are some of the best games and you're getting them free if you sub.

I think It's because of the large library of the PS3 that the PS4 seems to lack games. Which in comparison to the PS3 it does lack games. I don't know why someone would just drop their PS3 to begin with. Just because the new consoles are here doesn't mean that they are the only consoles you should play.

Xbox One has a better lineup.

So? He's talking about ps4...

Because to regular folk a lot of them are just ports with prettier gfx. People who are not core fans of a system want to see next gen exclusive titles before they go out and bu a system.

most of these games aren't great so that they don't make a great lineup, that's why people call it "no games". they obviously mean no games worth to buy the console for (in their opinion) or only games they already played on pc/ps360/tablet/whatever.

warframe as example is one of the most boring games i have played in the last 5 years. and something like trine 2 is a game i played long time ago...

the same counts obviously for xbox one and that is also the reason why i didn't buy a new console yet.

it may be true that many other launches were even worse but that doesn't help the people who find nothing interesting to play on ps4 right now.

What are you talking about?  I have never said the PS4 has no games, I'm saying that is the logic behind people that do say that.  And yes that's how I judge a game, that's why I have Tales of in my sig...

I think you meant to say AAA titles. That's the logic people use, not whether something is a system seller or not. The only reason 'system seller' is ever brought up is when a console is struggling to sell, hence my confusion with your comment. But that's ALL academic because the PS4 has stacks of games for all types of gamers and this thread is yet another example of people reaching for something to be negative about.

The PS5 Exists.

Call of Duty, Fifa, and Battlefield moved more consoles last generation then Halo,Uncharted,Gears of War,Forza,Little Big Planet,Infamous, and Killzone combined. If we are talking quality then yea the launch lineup for PS4 isn't that great. If we are talking why the PS4's sales are so strong, that's pretty easy to see. I have no clue how much longer those can carry Sony and Microsoft for that matter, but for now they still are.
