Forums - Gaming - Why People Says "PS4 Has No Games"? (+33 Games, +10 Genres, Strong, Diverse, etc)

It isn't the first time I read somebody saying that PS4 didn't have games when it have one of the best and strong launch lineup of the history of videogames.

Not just that the diversity is the key in the PS4 lineup.

Take a look of what PS4 have right now:

  • Angry Birds Star Wars
  • Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
  • Blacklight: Retribution
  • Battlefield 4
  • Call of Duty: Ghosts
  • Contrast
  • Don't Starve
  • Doki-Doki Universe
  • Escape Plan
  • FIFA 14
  • flOw
  • Flower
  • Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition
  • Just Dance 2014
  • Killzone Shadow Fall
  • Knack
  • Lego Marvel Super Heroes
  • Madden NFL 25
  • NBA 2K14
  • NBA Live 14
  • Need for Speed: Rivals
  • Pool Nation Extreme/FX
  • Putty Squad
  • Resogun
  • Skylanders: Swap Force
  • Sound Shapes
  • Super Motherload
  • The Pinball Arcade
  • Tiny Brains
  • Trine 2: Complete Story
  • Warframe
  • Warthunder
  • Zen Pinball 2

+ 33 games
+ Over 10 different genres

Everything a console needs to have a GREAT lineup.

So why people things "PS4 has no games"?

Around the Network

I don't think it has the best launch lineup in videogame history. That would be reserved for the SNES with Super Mario World.

They have to bash something you know

There really is no big system seller there.

Multiplatforms are not considered games or support in VGChartz, given the context.

It's just a thing of personal taste. I had a lot of fun since launch with Killzone, Resogun and Battlefield 4. But after about 2 months, those games just get a little bit old. I tried Don't Starve and Contrast as they came free with plus, but those just aren't my type of games. There is no game which I wanna have really bad. I bought NBA 2K14 the other day even though I don't even like basketball all that much. I thought about knavk, but I don't believe that one is worth the full price. I don't like call of duty at all, the same is true for NFS. So for me personally, there could be more games. I'm especially missing some (action) adventures and simulations. On the other hand it isn'ty first launch and I knew what I was getting into. So I don't complain about it and just play some PS3 and Vita. The games will come soon enough.

Skylanders? Just Dance? Knack? Angry Birds? Call of Duty? Crashfield 4?   Many great games indeed. Way better than the PS2's launch.

Take out all the games that it shares with the PS3, does it still look that great to you? PS4 only games should be the buying point of one IMO, the rest are just PS3 HD+ games.

I think when people say that they mean there is little there that is a must play (or at least worthy of a console purchase) or a system seller. They'll come tho, there is enough at launch for 'hardcore' gamers to be happy with.

This thread has convinced me to buy Assassin's Creed Liberation HD for Xbox 360.
