Forums - Sales - It's possible? 8.5mil+ PS4s sold by 31/MAR

It is funny how every country is sold out, but every store in Brazil has like 10 of them getting dust.

I wonder if they could gather all of those and take to another country, at least until the U$1800 price get cutted.

@OP
I think it will not happen.

Not sure if the amount of PS4s in Brasil would make a difference at all. Sony is better of just letting them on the Storeshelfs in brasil until someone buys them and redirect any supply to the other markets.

True, i don't think we have more than 20k around here.
i think they only send enought for marketing purposes

Holiday level sales for the next 2 months? Madness.

7 million isn't out of the question though.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Pachter's estimate is 1.4mil production per month. I think it's probably closer to 1.4 than 2.0.

But would that put it over 8 mil still? Current 4.4 + 3 * 1.4 = 8.6 mil!! And they're still sold out!!!

I'm going to predict around 6.8Mil by then.

BTW how is the PS4 comparing to the PS2 during the same time period? I'm curious

Japanese release will boost a good number for ps4.

The console is hyped pretty much at the moment, but once every fan has one, sales will probably get much lower. I predict 5.5 million at the end of March.

so it's going to sell 1 million more units in 2 months with its second largest country to launch?

I don't get this. I am a fan and still don't have a ps4. You can't make a prediction based on fanbase.

Then you are one of a million. And I can make predictions based on my dick if I want to, it's called a prediction, not fact.

Although I think it's possible they air shipped some supply to get more in December, which could reduce available supply in January.

They can't use something not manufactured yet...

They are producing about 200-250k units per week (~1.2m units per month)... so it is not like they can use the January production... they used in December what they produced until Dec 20th (they need ~1.5 week to ship to US).

You missed the point.  Shipping units by sea takes time, let's say 2 weeks to make it round.

Produce 350k by Nov 25 -> Deliver week of Dec 9
Produce 350k by Dec 2 -> Deliver week of Dec 16
Produce 350k by Dec 9 -> Deliver week of Dec 23
Produce 350k by Dec 16 -> Deliver week of Dec 30
Produce 350k by Dec 23 -> Deliver week of Jan 6
Produce 350k by Dec 30 -> Deliver week of Jan 13
etc.

Now, in order to boost supply in December what they can do is air-ship two weeks supply so that it arrives ~2 weeks early, so that instead of delivering 4*350k they deliver 6*350k in December (1.4 million by sea and 0.7 million by air).  Air shipping is much faster, but costs more so they wouldn't keep doing it forever.

It's rumored that they did that in order to give that big boost in Dec, and if that's the case it would take away form the delivery in January, so we could have them deliver only say 700k~1050k in January.

Dis?

Supply down around 100,000 this week.

My guess is between 7 and 8
